I believe that there is a certain kind of person that has to care for others that are in need. My passion for and love to help others is what i think makes me a great caregiver. I knew from a very young age that I wanted to help others. It was dream or my God given purpose to be a caregiver. I love seeing the smiling faces of people when you interact and get to know them. I love to make people happy, honestly what attracted me to caregiving is knowing that I can help someone out and give a family peace of mind while they are out working or taking care of kids without having to worry about if their loved one is being taken care of.

I became a CNA because I enjoy helping others and find the work mentally and physically satisfying. I like getting to know the patient and learning about their life, some are quite the character! It is never dull and even with the repetition of routine there is always something different going on. I am proud of the fact I passed my state CNA exam on the first try, most do not so that was quite gratifying. I recently took my state test for medication aide and am now certified in that as well.

I became a caregiver by chance, but once I helped my first patient and saw the difference I made in her life I was hooked. I go above and beyond for my patients. I like to think that me being there for them makes their life a little better for them. I have great work ethic. Being on time for my job is something I'm proud of. I received training as CNA in CT, I live in VA now and haven't gone to school for certification here, but I am certified in CT.

I'm a wife, mother and grandmother, and I've always loved the need to care for others. I'm a very patient, compassionate, caring and loving individual. I feel my passion for others is definitely my calling, which makes me a great caregiver that I am. That's the reason I chose to become a caregiver years ago.
