Ive been a CNA for 20 yrs, received my license in North Carolina in 2001 and in Virginia in 2009. I believe the most important thing that makes me a great CNAs is patience and understanding. The reason why I became a CNA is I find joy in the elderly. They are knowledgeable, they make you laugh,and you can learn alot from them. I get great joy in seeing the smiles on their faces because they're pleased with me.

Because I'm a very compassionate person, and patient that 's what makes me a very special and caring nursing aide. Also I love the work I do ,not because of the money and overtime, Because of the satsfaction I get from helping people from day to day.

I lived with my grandparents my whole life and made me develop the love of caring for the elderly. I feel really happy whenever I help the elderly. I was about 12 years when my grandfather died. After his death, I made a promise to myself I would be a caregiver one day and help the elderly and here I am now after 4 years, I'm still doing the work that I love.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I'm truly an advocate for the safety and well-being of the patient. I'm my eyes, there's no wrong door. I do all I can to make sure my patient is very well taken care of and has what they need. I love helping others; especially those that are unable to help themselves.
