Hello am a caregiver with the experience of taking care of the elderly, who was trained with the Sunrise Assisted Living in the year 2004,after a year sat for the State Board to be certified ,was then employed with the Hermitage and Fairfax Nursing Homes for quite sometime, within one of these facilities had a client who preferred to be cared for at home. Later part of 2006 I started private duty in Vienna VA and in 2009 Feb she passed away peacefully. I took care of my sick mother until she passed away. Later, a friend introduced me to the field of caregiving. Though I had formerly been a school teacher, caregiving fit like a glove. A client once asked me why I chose this profession, and I told her that I wanted to make a difference in people's lives. I offer personal care, housekeeping services, and companionship. When my client was dying, I held her hand the entire time, not knowing that the daughter had entered the room and observed my action. After her death I received a note from the daughter describing how she had been touched by my action. As a former teacher, I am punctual, compassionate, empathetic, and sentimental; I laugh and cry with my clients. My current job involves caring for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes. I have recently been providing a client with personal hygiene in the morning through CareLinx.

I am compassionate person. I am always able to listen and sympathy with my Patients. When Patients are headed in a negative direction, I try to listen and steer them on a positive path. I am helper by nature, I always try and help others first, knowing that things will always be better for me if others are taken care of first! I find I am able to make a bond with the Patient that allows for a fuller, more enjoyable experience for us both. I am so proud and happy that through my care and attention, I have been able to help families stay connected and continue to be out of a medical facility.
