Ive been a CNA for 20 yrs, received my license in North Carolina in 2001 and in Virginia in 2009. I believe the most important thing that makes me a great CNAs is patience and understanding. The reason why I became a CNA is I find joy in the elderly. They are knowledgeable, they make you laugh,and you can learn alot from them. I get great joy in seeing the smiles on their faces because they're pleased with me.

I am currently a CNA at Riverside Doctors Hospital but am looking to get into Home Health Care. I have been a CNA for over 2 years now and love every moment of it. As an empathetic and caring person who has cared for a special needs child, I know what it feels like to want your relative to have the best level of comfort care, and attention possible. I became a care giver because my son was a special needs child. I was personally responsible for grooming him, bathing him, feeding him, soothing him during physiotherapy sessions, administering his medication, taking him to his medical appointments, and making sure he was comfortable. This experience made me understand the difficulties experienced by speial needs individuals, and different ways to alleviate these struggles.
