Some residents at the Assisted Living Community call me Christmas, saying it's close to Carol , my nickname. They said it fits my personality. Willing to give love (as the song goes... on Christmas Day!), happy, funny, full of joy! I have been taking care of my Father who suffered from stroke for 10 years back in the Philippines, being one of his caregivers. I was also his Physical Therapist. We moved here in the US 5 years ago, and I have worked as a caregiver , then transitioned to work in the Med Room as a Medication Technician at Maple Glen Assisted Living in Shelton, WA. I consider it a calling given the opportunity to work there. I am a people person and loves taking care of elderly. I treat them as family and I enjoy listening to their stories, and attending to their needs. Having a Physical Therapy background, and with experience in home health, clinical, and hospital settings, I could offer different types of assistance based on the needs. I consider my time at Maple Glen as one of my career achievements. I love all of the residents and I became The Employee of the Month in less than a year. Being a caregiver is a calling for me. I am proud to be one and I enjoy doing it! It is not an easy job but coming from a Filipino family surrounded by big hearted love ones, I carry it wherever I go, and I live up to the values my parents had taught me, which I am passing on to my daughter and son.

Hello! I am currently a Home Care Aid in the Shelton area, and I work with a variety of clients young and older. I love working with children, and I am going to school to become a chemical dependency counselor and hope to work with youth at risk. I am CPR certified, smoke free, and have my own vehicle. A few things about me that makes me an amazing caregiver is that not only do I believe to still give them there Independence in a safe manor but I also care deeply from my heart and try my best to always get all there needs complete. One thing that made me interested in being a caregiver was when I was 10 I used to go to my great grandpas retirement home and help out with everyone. I enjoyed it so much, seeing there faces when I would help with something or just sit and listen made me feel like I won a million dollars. It's the most rewarding thing in life is to give back as much as I can to others that have done so much in life. One of the most enjoyable things as a caregiver is completing a goal that boosts up there confidence. When I first meet someone and they have alot of trouble with something, I help work on it and once I see the progress and smile on there face it makes me so happy to see them happy. That's all I strive to do is make it easier and happier for them . A professional Achievement I have had is that I have been a caregiver for 5 years and havent once had a horrible experience. I have gotten so much knowledge and have been through tons of experience I feel like nothing is too difficult for me to achieve. Hello there, my name is Jennifer Stoeger. I am a twenty-five year old mother of two beautiful children and a wife. I have been a care giver for just about five years and counting. I came into this line of work with no idea how meaningful it would be to me, my nana had dementia as I was growing up and I've seen how it can effect a family frist hand. When I am taking care of someone it always reminds me of my nana and i can't help but feel love. What I enjoy most about this line of work is getting to know all the diffrent people and learning who they are as a person, helping them over come daily obstacles, spending time doing fun things like going on outings and doing crafts. Over the last five years I have worked mostly with seniors that have earily to late stages of Alzheimer's and dementia. What makes me so good at my job is all the experience I've have working with all the diffrent people I've gotten to know. I truly love helping others. I am soft spoken, full of patience and understanding, and I have lots of love to give, and above all I am always respectful. I don't treat this like a normal job, everyone is family and everyone deserves a caregiver who knows the difference.
