I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 30 years. Part of that time I was a Medical Assistant. I became a caregiver originally to help family members, and found that I enjoyed it so much that I made it my career. I am most proud of the fact that I make lives better and increase the social life of my clients.

My name is Nikki. I have been a certified nursing assistant since 2014, but have been taking care of people since 2000. What attracted me to become a caregiver was taking care of my mother for so long. My mother passed in 2006 and from then on I've been a caregiver. I am a caregiver at night for a client I have had since July 8th of 2015. I am the lead at my job, I handle the medications, doctors apts, payroll, firing, hiring and basically anything you can think of. My job isn't a job it's my life, my career. I have helped take care of Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, MS, quadriplegic, cancer, amputations, inserting catheters, condom catheters, pubic catheters, colostomy bags you name it I have done it. What I truly enjoy most about being a caregiver is leaving the clients house knowing that the little time you get to spend with them made a difference. I have always enjoyed being around people and want to help out when ever I can. I started working at nursing home my junior year of high school. My mom had worked at Roolan Healthcare when I was little. So I kinda grew up in the business. My brothers friends worked there when I was in high school. They needed a dining room aide. I applied and got it. I would set up meal trays and serve. I'd help with feeding. I learned about all the differfiets and textures of drinks and food. Then graduated from high school and took CNA class. Passed on first try. Became CNA and never looked back. Worked at nursing home for 9 years. Then went onto Alzheimer's and demepfir almost 4 years. Afterwards went and worked for the company Bonaventure where I was a caregiver and became a medtech. I administered meds, wrote up MARS, interacted with MDs, pharmacies and other sources. Ordered meds and did vitals.
