I'm very much a people person & highly empathetic. I knew I wanted to be a caretaker/Nurse since high school working as a volunteer in local hospital. I come from a family of caretakers so it's in my genetics. I've done many aspects of caregiving from rooming patients in local clinic to skilled unit in nursing facility & Alzheimer's unit. I love geriatric care due to the respect I have for the elderly. They've earned it for surviving through hardships I've only read about & learned in history class, which brings me to the fact that they have the best stories to tell if able to. I take pride in my care & the bigger the challenge it is with not so happy clients/patients I manage to get them to open up a bit & do my best to turn there frown upside down raising there spirits up. I welcome new challenges & learning about something new especially if it helps my care towards my patient. Dementia/Alzheimer's care is my specialty.

I became a CNA in 2011. I had a son with CP and that led me to being a caregiver. I feel it's a very rewarding job and I enjoy working and helping people with there day to day living.

Natural, I show compassion and empathy. I am passionate, and see the good in people no matter the circumstances. Living with my Grandmother was won't of the most exciting time in my life. She was fun to be with, and we enjoyed each other company and she taught me life lessons that has been applied to my life today. Being a caregiver, the client can rest assured that they can be safe and comfortable in their home and they will be provided the care a dignity, compassion and respect they deserve.

Families in Minnesota, FYI, just a heads up about the new Home care laws: Think twice before hiring a caregiver without the supervision of a licensed agency in Minnesota. The State of Minnesota requires any unlicensed direct caregivers (including Certified Nursing Assistants) to have a license...please be sure to check that this is in place prior to hiring them. Why did I become a Caregiver? I have been gifted with Compassion and Empathy. My diverse life experiences have allowed me to care for people with Dignity and Grace. I see those I care for as a whole person not Just their disease, disability or situation. During my hands on experience in Group Homes, One on One companionship, Private CNA Caregiver, Nursing Home and Nanny experience. I have acquired many skills and tools that have allowed me to care for others with dignity and grace. Despite their dementia, schizophrenia, autism, Asperger's, or mental illness. The Individuals I care for celebrate this person-centered care. I see and respect them as the most important person in my Now. A personal achievement I am proud of is my Patience, Love and Understanding. My ability to adapt quickly. I moved to Florida three summers ago from Minnesota. I have yet to get used to the Florida summers. However, I do enjoy and embrace the Flora, Foliage and Fauna. I see something new everyday. My new favorite Florida bird is the Painted Bunting.
