Hello. I am a Certified Nursing Assistant since June 2013 and BLS/CPR Certified since August 2020. I have been working in home care, assisted livings, and skilled nursing facilities in Green Bay for the past eight years. Experienced with Prostheses, Heart Disease, Stroke, Dementia, Alzheimer's, Osteoporosis, Diabetes, Parkinson's, Arthritis, and Multiple Sclerosis diagnoses; however, open to helping any adult, especially seniors. Trained in Sit-to-Stand and Hoyer lifts, Diabetic wound & pressure ulcer care, oxygen tanks, and Range-of-Motion exercises. In my mind, my role is assisting them in living as normal of a life as possible, with the best quality of life as possible, through completing tasks that are extremely difficult or dangerous for them to complete due to their condition. My name is April and I've been a caregiver for 11 years. I enjoy what I do! It's rewarding to me. When I was 10, my grandpa became sick and we took care of him in our home. I remember sitting in his bed playing cards with him. I also remember providing direct care for him when my mom couldn't. Maybe this is why I became a CNA, it's in my blood.:) While working in a nursing home, the residents become your family. They see us almost every day and look forward to seeing us, as I look forward to seeing them too. It's so rewarding to see the smile on their face when I walk in their room. It brings me joy, to see your loved one happy and smiling.

I have been a caregiver for almost 4 years now and have a wide variety of experience. 2) I enjoy interacting with many types of people. I love getting to know people and talking to them. I am proud that I was able to work on the Alzheimer and Dementia ward at my local nursing home and I am proud of the care that I gave these residents. 4) I am a people person. I became a certified nursing assistant because my grandma has dementia and I wanted to learn more about the illness and understand what she was going through . I also became a caregiver because I have a lot of patience and I love working with elderly! What I love about being a caregiver is you have time to really get to know your resident on a deeper level. I have worked in nursing homes before and you don't have time to connect with your residents, talk to them about their past, or even spend and extra 30 minutes doing their hair. It seems like everything is so rushed in a nursing home. Where as being a caregiver and caring for elderly in their home you have time to take them shopping, do their hair, play games, and talk about their past and really connect with them. A personal achievement I am proud of is moving out and living independently. My name is Ashlynn Reddemann I am 21 years old and have been a CNA for 4 years now.
