I have worked in private homes, for home health agencies, at assisted living and memory care facilities with responsibility for as little as 8 to as many as 25 residents as core staff and for agencies, at rehabilitation centers, with hospice patients, I am very well-rounded in experience and have done just about everything that goes with the job. Caregiving comes natural to me, and I love helping people. I became a caregiver when I started taking care of my grandparents about 25 years ago. When I am providing care to my residents or clients, I treat them as if I would my own grandparents. I know they are happy and very proud of me in the ways I provide care. Caregiving is what makes my feet grounded to humility, sympathy and empathy and forgetting my own concern and cares of my personal challenges. I enjoy the fact that people need me. That there are people out there who need my strength and time and I felt so blessed to contribute what I have. It reminds me how grateful I am of my strength and time to be able to help others and validate my existence. It is very fulfilling and rewarding to be a part of help for people who once had full of life and vigor and see myself forward in them. I love the feeling of knowing that part of me is mortal and is subject to limitations and it settles my mind on what and how I wanted to be treated when time permits I'll be of the same situation. I enjoy listening to their experiences there life stories and their solemn self of slow living. I learn in some ways that beauty will fade, strength is temporary and our life is borrowed. I am happy when a member choose me to be their preferred one, when they express gratitude and gratefulness. In the morning it inspires me that someone needs me and my help. That keeps me going going!
