It is important to me as a caregiver that I support and promote independence. My objective is to provide safety and security while ensuring my client's dignity.

I have been a caregiver for over 24 years, I Love what I do it is truly my life. I specialize in strokes G-tubes, special diabetic diets light housekeeping and cooking etc. Very trustworthy and honest.

Caregiving is a very personal job, still I find ways to incorporate love, humor, cheerfulness, fun, hope, trust and optimism into my care. I look forward to building a close relationship with my clients as well as their family. I love that I get the opportunity to listen and learn about thier lives as it allows me to live vicariously through their many adventures, life accomplishments and travels. I find capturing their legacy most fascinating...respecting their dignity. Lastly and most importantly, meeting them when/where they need it most in their life's journey... be it a speedy recovery or their final chapter in the book of life.

I have a deep sense of compassion for my clients and always seek ways to build positive rapport using humor to aid in this process. My mother is an RN so talking care of others runs in my family. I enjoy seeing my clients make progress towards independence so that they can feel more confident and and assured about life. I received a Caregiver of the Month Award for achievement in handling challenging situations.

What makes me a good caregiver is that I care and love helping others. In the last two years I have cared for two different woman, one of which has dementia and needed to get out of the house for errands, doctor appointments and companionship. It allowed her husband to have some alone time and allowed her to feel she had not lost her independence. The other woman is 92 years old. This job asked for a full time live in which I embraced. My duties included, cooking all her meals, shopping for all food, daily bathing and administering her medications. I also take her to needed appointments, and general outings. I love a clean house and keep her home as clean as I would my own. The reason I would be a good choice is that I am realible, trustworthy, and an excellent cook and driver. I am currently looking to relocate to Palm Springs, Indian Wells or La Quinta.

I have tremendous empathy, patience and respect for each client. I treat each one as I do my father, whom I have been caring for the last 7years.Before caregiving, I managed restaurants for 23 years. I have ALWAYS been a customer service focused person. I wanted to make a change that fulfilled my heart. The thing I enjoy most about my job is assisting people with retaining their independence and self respect, even with a disability. Everyone needs to feel productive, like they contribute. The personal achievement that I am most proud of is that in the last year I have gotten my dad into the best mental, nutritional health that he has been in in the last 30 years.
