After she passed away, I went back to school to become a CNA and Hhc so I could specialize in caring for patients with ALS and the elderly patients. Before starting my business 2 years ago, I was a Certified Nursing Assistant for 2 years in a local skilled nursing facility. I still hold my certification and absolutely love working with seniors. I cared for and specialized in residents with dementia and mostly worked in the dementia unit of the facility I was in. I treat all my residents with the same love and care that I would my own family. I think all elderly should be treated with patience and compassion just as if they where one of my very own family members. I will do the best I can to meet every need each person has as an individual. My goal at the end of my day is to know that each patient is comfortable and happy with the care that I have provided. Taking care of my elderly mother for just over 7 yrs showed me that if her care were handed of to another, I would need to know she was truly taken care of, and that is what I hope I can do for another family.

I believe that one should treat an individual the way you would like to be treated and that is with dignity and respect. My decision of becoming a Caregiver is that I wanted a career in helping people in need. The main reason I love to care for a person is that making a difference in a person's life gives me a great feeling.
