I have completed training in various courses through The Public Authority of Santa Clara County, including topics such as the last phases of life, mental health, nutrition, personal care, pre-paramedical studies, Alzheimer's and dementia basics, first aid, diabetes, and CPR, among others. As the oldest and only girl among four siblings, I inherited the role of caregiver at a very young age. I started as a babysitter and later moved into adult care. I have remained a caregiver because I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and different parts of the world. Each person is unique, and their shared experiences often come with valuable knowledge and lessons. For me, there is no greater satisfaction than going home at the end of my workday, knowing that my presence made a difference in someone else's day and that I am appreciated.

About me, I always wanted to be a registered nurse since I was a little girl. I didn't get that far the goal was to take care of people. I love what I do. It's not about the money it's about caring and taking care of people and giving them the attention and love they need. I studied to be a drug and alcohol counselor, but would like to be able to help others as well, so I am looking into caregiver work. I would like to do something meaningful, and that I enjoy. I have 20+ years of experience in the healthcare industry specifically in the role of caregiver. I've always had a love of taking care of people. My earliest memories Consisted of playing hospital with my Barbie dolls and pretending to take care of them as if I were in a real hospital setting! I would bathe them, dress them, administer injections etc. That love stayed with me throughout my childhood to present day. Although I've gone to school and acquired all of the proper credentials needed to work in hospitals etc., I missed that special feeling you get via the relationships and bonds that developed when giving one on one care to a client which I felt was lacking in the hospital setting. I am at my happiest when I am able to bring a smile to my clients face through the services that I provide for them personally and I really enjoy providing companionship as well. When my dad fell ill, I gave up everything to focus on taking care of him personally. In addition to the clinical portion of caring for him we watched TV together, shared deep conversations and stories of his childhood and mine, I prepared his favorite meals etc. And when it was my dad's time, I walked away from it with life long memories that I have passed along to my children who I hope will pass it on to their children and so on!
