What makes me a great care giver is first of all, my heart. I do this because I love to and when you do what you love it is not work. I am caring empathetic and compassionate. With over 36 years of senior care, I have extensive experience in ALL aspects of caring for the elderly and providing the very best in quality of life care. To name a few; Alzheimer/Dementia Care and communication strategies(redirection, therapeutic fibbing, or "going along" as long as it doesn't put the client at risk). Anxiety reduction, social interaction and companionship. Bathing and personal hygiene, great cook and homemaker. Observant and aware of changes in clients well-being. educated in home safety and recognizing possible barriers to client safety and ways to improve or remove those barriers. Excellent communicator and team player. There are many things I have done over the years as a caregiver that I am proud of. One in general, as to all my client,s has been to provide the very best in care and compassion and afford them the quality of life, respect and dignity we all deserve. As a care manager for my previous client, I was able to ensure that she was truly loved and happy. I ensured all her wishes were met and she knew she was cared for as well as her home and her cat. Her knowing was important to me. I am a Medical Assistant. I have 6 years of Home Health Care experience. I have experience in COPD, Bladder Cancer, Blood clots, Brain tumor, seizures, amputee, medications. Including IV medications. I can assist for bathing, light house work, driving, and out door, or indoor activities. Which are so important. I'm sweet, but with a take charge personality. I'm organized, and like things in order.
