I felt that since she did so much for me, making her comfortable & her day to day needs easier was the least I could do for her. I am enthusiastic and enjoy working with the elderly. I am a loyal and faithful companion. I was first attracted to caring for the elderly through my grandmother who simply needed someone to understand. I have taken care of my grandmother my mother and many elderly since then. What I enjoy most about caring for the elderly his to give them a reason to smile, laugh and be happy in their own environment and being their own selves. Some of my personal achievements that I am extremely proud of was a dementia patient who no longer enjoyed painting and with my enthusiastic caring she started painting again. Another elderly lady with Alzheimer's who had forgotten that she loved the outdoors and to walk for exercise. We started sitting on her front porch enjoying the birds and butterfly's and walking down the road for exercise. She even challenged me to a race, LOL. Then another was afraid to take the escalator, she was afraid she would fall. With no other way out, I helped her walk right onto it with no trouble. There was a gentleman that had not fed himself in many years, with my encouragement he was eating by himself again with no assistance. These are just a few of the accomplishments with the elderly that I am thankful that I was able to Help with and Witness.

I'm a kind, caring person. Likes taking care of the elderly and disabled. As a home health aide I do for the clients what they can't do for themselves. Will keep all information about my clients confidential. I always treat others like I want to be treated,with respect and dignity.

My name is Rhoda and I'm from Coralville, Iowa. I am currently a third year psychology major at FAMU and I love working in patient care. I believe that I would be a good fit for any caregiving positions because I have some previous experience such as basic life support training and nurse aide certification. My name is taniah johnson I'm 19 years old , what made me start being a care giver is when my great grand dad became very sick and seen how he was mis treated and how a lot of people just really ain't have time for him . And my grandmother was looking for a personal care giver that she can trust it was actually one of my first job to help my grand dad I couldn't see nobody us mistreating him so I took on a big responsibility at 16 and I love it I started taking classes wen I was 17 in high school got my second job as a pca at 18 I really like helping them showing nobody didn't give up on you affection I love making them feel like they have somebody they can trust I like seeing that I'm doing good at a young age .

I started my nursing career at 22 years old. I was a kid when I started, but I was a kid with a different type of soul and I knew it. It was almost scary being that age and full of love and knowledge. Let's be honest, most kids at that age are having the time of their life. I had fun too, but it was reading and educating myself. That was my fun. I think having a sick sibling at a young age is what drew me into nursing. I was about 13 when my sister was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy. Interesting enough, I would read and learn more about her disease than she did. I stuck with me. I have been a nurse a total of 22 years.
