Hello, my name is Shameka Stringer. I am a current resident of Albany, Ga/Lee County. I just previously moved from Birmingham Alabama. My hometown resides in Arlington Ga. I am a mother of 5 kids, whom I love dearly! I have been working as a Patient Care Assistant for many years off and on, which I love. I started as a teenager with my grandmother who was disabled and blind. I was her in-home stay granddaughter for many years. I was trained through other nurses and doctors of how to care for her needs . Baths, medication administering, assisting with doctor visits, cooking and cleaning for her, basically I were her eyes of safe keep. When she was transferred over to the nursing home facility, I also became a volunteer companion sitter there to assist her along with other patients. I loved what i did for her as well as others without pay. It was enjoyment of being in the presence of the elderly and being able to help them when they couldn't help themselves. I love what I do, and that's helping others.

I became a caregiver because it is always something i wanted to do. i have the passion and attitude for this field. i like being a CNA because i know i can make a difference. i get a thrill out of making sure people are cared for the right way. i go the extra mile. i clock out and stay a few minutes. i like to get to know my clients and how they feel about things. i like to listen to the stories some have. I am proud of making a difference, seeing them happy, smiling, and i have learned a various of things even down to the shots. i wouldn't have a problem with being a RN at all. I like to learn various things to help my experience. i tend to have a passionate heart. I pray and talk to those who are christians. I like reading, computers, experimenting and staying busy. I have always wanted to be a nurse and work in the health care fields.

My personality traits and expertise that helps me be a great caregiver is that being able to understand and be patient with the needs of elderly clients. I am able to empathize and understand what others are feeling. I am able to interact with patient and their loved ones in a polite and professional manner. The thing that attracted me to being a caregiver is seeing my dad being paralyzed and helping him out and taking care of him. I enjoy helping people and making them smile. I'm honestly loving person I'll care for my clients as if they were my own family. I helped take care of my mom before she passed away and I CPR certified have a four year old so I have all the patients that it'll take to deal with the clients. What attracted me to this job is because I love helping others yeah I'll take some classes because I went to college for early childhood education but I'm willing to learn and expand my experience in the work field and just ready for change. I achievement's I am proud of the most is finishing school even though I had a new born to look after of and also my cpr certification.
