Hello! My name is Andrea, you may also call me Andy (for short) I've been a CNA since 2008. What's helped me enjoy my career more than anything is my residents & families. I consider everyone I have got the pleasure of taking care of like extra grandparents and I couldn't thank their families enough for sharing them with me. I've been trained & also have worked with Alzheimer's, & dementia. My grandmother whom I took care of for a couple years also had this disease. I've been trained on hoyer lifts many times. Also I've been educated on puree foods, thicken liquids & mechanical soft. I have a family of 2 of which I absolutely adore. My 13 yr old son & 1 yr old little girl. They keep me busy when I'm not working our summers consist of baseball games, swimming & learning something new everyday.

What are your personality traits or expertise that help you be a great caregiver? Patience : especially when dealing with the elderly, it is essential for a caregiver to be patient because some of the consumers might not know what they are doing and some needed more time to understand informations . Honest Trustworthiness Compassion Attentiveness . What attracted you to being a caregiver? Being reliable, arriving for work on time and fulfilling all duties in a timely manner. Respecting my patients' privacy and dignity. Exhibiting a positive demeanor and kind tone of voice. Being considerate and kind when working with the patient. What do you enjoy most about being a caregiver? Putting a smile on my patients face when they achieve their daily goals What is a personal achievement you are proud of? I have been a CNA for 10 years, and have worked in all different situations in many different facilities. I aspire to go further with my nursing degree, and eventually, hopefully become an RN like my mom. I enjoy being a caregiver because it gives me a sense of purpose, I enjoy helping people. Many life lessons held dearest to my heart, came from the facility where I worked my first 2 years as a CNA. I currently work PRN for an agency based out of Indianapolis. Although I am through an agency, I have been steadily picking up at a facility in Franklin for over 5 years. I am searching for a PRN or part time option closer to home. I have been in healthcare for awhile now. I've worked with dementia patients, hospice patients, and most diseases or disabilities you can think of. Healthcare and assisting people in general has been what I've wanted to do since I was a child and I'm now fulfilling that dream. Taking care of those who once took care of us! I enjoy being a caregiver because knowing the fact that I can make someone's life a little easier by assisting them with simple tasks makes me feel so much joy. I truly love what I do.

I have been a cna for 11 years and a qma for 4 years. I also have my certificate to give insulin. I love taking care of people and I'm currently in school to become a nurse. Since doing agency I always thought about having one client I can take care of, bond with, and be there for them as long as I'm needed. I enjoy being there for people when they need somebody to support them even if it's just an companion. My personal achievement I'm proud of is that I'm not stopping at qma, I'm furthering my career.

Hello my name is Michelle Dayton. I have worked in home healthcare for close to 25 years. I have been State certified as a CNA in both Michigan and Indiana. I am not currently certified but I am a registered HHA. I get tremendous enjoyment of taking care of others. My healthcare career started as a volunteer for hospice after I lost my grandparents. I've seen what amazing work they did and how at peace my grandparents were when they passed and I chose to pay it forward. I am a little more picky on the people I take care of then other Aides for two reasons: 1. If the client and I seem to clash it's no good for anyone. So I will not waste your time or my own. I will just respectfully decline the offer. 2. The clients I take on will not be just a clients. I love my people like they're my own family and I will do my absolute best to meet every need they have. If I cannot accomplish that I will find someone who can and put you in touch with them, because there's no sense in your family members being unhappy and uncomfortable in their own home. I feel that I am very caring and compassionate with each and every client that I've had. I believe everyone deserves respect, kindness and a voice( your opinion matters to me!) I will never force your family members to do something they don't want to do. I feel they have live through several wars, a great depression and a whole lot of hardship in the past and now is their time to be pampered. If your family member needs anything or you have questions about anything if I can't answer them I will find the answers and if I have the answers I will let you know.
