Hello! My name is Andrea, you may also call me Andy (for short) I've been a CNA since 2008. What's helped me enjoy my career more than anything is my residents & families. I consider everyone I have got the pleasure of taking care of like extra grandparents and I couldn't thank their families enough for sharing them with me. I've been trained & also have worked with Alzheimer's, & dementia. My grandmother whom I took care of for a couple years also had this disease. I've been trained on hoyer lifts many times. Also I've been educated on puree foods, thicken liquids & mechanical soft. I have a family of 2 of which I absolutely adore. My 13 yr old son & 1 yr old little girl. They keep me busy when I'm not working our summers consist of baseball games, swimming & learning something new everyday.

I was a caregiver for my quadriplegic son until his passing at age 15. He taught me patience, being kind and self-care. I believe in treating people with kindness and go the extra mile for someone. Patience : especially when dealing with the elderly, it is essential for a caregiver to be patient because some of the consumers might not know what they are doing and some needed more time to understand informations . I have been a CNA for 10 years, and have worked in all different situations in many different facilities. I aspire to go further with my nursing degree, and eventually, hopefully become an RN like my mom. I enjoy being a caregiver because it gives me a sense of purpose, I enjoy helping people. Many life lessons held dearest to my heart, came from the facility where I worked my first 2 years as a CNA. I currently work PRN for an agency based out of Indianapolis. Although I am through an agency, I have been steadily picking up at a facility in Franklin for over 5 years. I am searching for a PRN or part time option closer to home. I have been a cna for 11 years and a qma for 4 years. I also have my certificate to give insulin. I love taking care of people and I'm currently in school to become a nurse. Since doing agency I always thought about having one client I can take care of, bond with, and be there for them as long as I'm needed. I enjoy being there for people when they need somebody to support them even if it's just an companion. My personal achievement I'm proud of is that I'm not stopping at qma, I'm furthering my career.

I have been in healthcare for awhile now. I've worked with dementia patients, hospice patients, and most diseases or disabilities you can think of. Healthcare and assisting people in general has been what I've wanted to do since I was a child and I'm now fulfilling that dream. Taking care of those who once took care of us!
