I am an LPN with 21yrs experience. I have enjoyed working with patients with Alzheimers and Dementia along with intellectual disabilities . I have supervisory experience overseeing Home health aids and have personally seen the struggles for patients and their families in finding good care for their loved ones and the challenges home health aids face. I also have Neurology office experience doing multiple roles as a Nurse and EEg tech and have for learned many strategies to work with patients with Alzheimers and Dementia . I have also had the pleasure of working with patients with Epilepsy, Parkinsons and MS. I have been in the work field since I was 16yrs and my new career path is to be a private duty LPN caregiver where I can work with individuals and their families to make their lifes better with good care and compassion.

What inspired me to start caregiving was my great grandmother. She was a caregiver and I admired the way she would go above and beyond to help people reach their full protentional. My favorite part about caring for people is getting to know each other, learning each others common interests, gaining wisdom from the person and seeing the persons progress! I grew up on a farm in Ohio with 8 sisters, 1 brother, 3 dogs & several cats, ducks & guinea pigs. I have volunteered most of my adult life with a multitude of organizations including: Hospice, the Humane Society, Make A Wish Foundation, the local library, Kitty Konnection (a feral cat rescue), the Rape Crisis Hotline, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, my local church. I enjoy helping people and the company of animals. My hobbies includes music, baking, traveling, reading, movies, and art museums. I have 2 grown sons & 6 grandkids, all of whom live in other states.

Hi my name is Traci and I've been a caregiver for the elderly and disabled for over 20 years. I've had other jobs but I'm always drawn back to the elderly. I enjoy sitting and chatting with them, they're so full of information..... Like walking dictionaries! I have worked with many different diagnosis over the years, my schedule is flexible and I'm very dependable.

Somethings come naturally, and caring for children and the elderly seems natural for me. The years prior to my parents passing away, I worked a full time job and still helped take care of my parents. I spent weekend and evening with them. There were no regrets after they passed. What I enjoy the most about caregiving is the pleasure it gives the person I'm helping, and the good feeling I get assisting them. I know both my parents were proud, happy and relieved to be able to have stayed at home until they died. We are a close knit family and that is why I started helping my Aunt and a family friend once my parents passed and I became retired. My daughter is an RN and my son owns his own excavation company. I have six grandchildren, 5 girls and 1 boy. The boy was the last :) I live in a 4 tenement house that originally belonged to my grandparents, then my parents and now my brother owns it. 17yrs ago I moved back to Adams after living in California for 20 yrs. One of the apartments was available so I decided to not buy another house, and just live in the apartment next door to my parents. I had a baby monitor in my parents bedroom and in my bedroom so if they needed me during the night, they could just "yell", which my Mom did often because she could no longer walk on her own. Both my children live on the same street as I do, which makes it nice. I moved back to the Berkshires just in time to enjoy my parents last years before passing.

I am extremely an polite person and outgoing person. I enjoy meeting new people. I realized I do have an amazing caring heart who genuinely loves to help people, also can have a lot of patience which attracted me to becoming a caregiver. One of my most personal achievements throughout being a caregiver I have learned new traits from others, which taught me how to bond with different individuals.

Since I began working with people with intellectual disabilities over a year and a half ago I have grown increasingly confident and passionate for this work. I believe in taking every opportunity to affect as much positive change in the world as possible. I have developed a work ethic that implements compassion, urgency, and efficiency in equal measure to ensure that I meet the goals I set for myself and for those placed within my responsibility. Most importantly, I know that the people I take care of are strong, endearing, and unique individuals who deserve the absolute best standard of assistance I can give. I can promise that I will hold myself to that standard every step of the way as I work with you and for you.

I love the health career I'm in its such a great feeling to help people in need and to go asleep at night knowing that person was able to get through another day with your help. I became a caregiver because of my grandma she's been a AFC host since i was about 6 years old and loved watching the individual she took care of and still does become family to us and watch him become a better and healthier person. I enjoy that i can change someones life with just a little help and make them happy at the end of the day by even just having a conversation with them. I was proud of finally giving back to my elders by getting my HHA certificate and continuing on in a field I'm passionate about.
