At the age of 10, I landed my first job as summer companion to Catherine DeForest, my maternal grandmother. Unsurprisingly, the work of companion to the family matriarch required copious amounts of physical labor - my grandmother was elderly - but the experience also involved inklings of a new and unexpected pleasure - the gratifications of responsibility. My grandmother, who was from New York, arrived at Glendale Cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee, on the first day of summer. Over a period of 12 years, I joined her there. I cleared the acorns from the grasses of her double croquet court, hiked each morning, shopping list in one hand, bills and change in the other, to the corner store to buy her groceries, and rowed her, my grandmother did not drive an automobile, across Smith's Cove to tea at the homes of neighbors. Her training served me well. From my grandmother I learned to be a responsible member of a household. I learned to be good company. Still under my grandmother's spell I enjoy being secretary and companion to the mobile elderly. I have over 8 years of experience as a care giver. I am dependable, flexible, punctual, reliable, trustworthy and hardworking. I love my job and always treat my clients as my own family.
I have worked with clients of different conditions like Alzheimer's, dementia, Parkinson's, arthritis, scelorisis, stroke, diabetes, hard of hearing, cancer among others.
I have skills in hoyer lift, transport chairs, walker, gait belt, wheel chair among other.
I offer light house keeping, cleaning, watering plants, errands and shopping, safety and companionship, meal preparations, transport, accompany to doctor's appointments, ambulation and transfers, lbathing and grooming among others. I have a friendly personality and, that might not be in general what makes me really great at everything I do but, it sure has a high standard that accompanies my level of skills. I don't remember ever failing to an assignment where I embrace "PATIENCE" to top my challenges. That's also one of my considering skill. I categorize myself to a needy position to what everyone is looking for to be happy with life and, it's "SATISFACTION". I always go hard as it requires to reach out satisfaction to all my clients. Because satisfaction plays a major role to success. Everything that brings success comes along with "God, FAILURE, PATIENCE, MOTIVATION, DETERMINATION, HARD WORKING, RESPECT and all that brings SATISFACTION then SUCCESS. What attracted me being a caregiver is the smile I empower to bring to both sides of my clients and their families. I feel a hero to be able to bring peace and joy to elders. Their happiness is what makes me happy. And that's what enjoys me most about being a caregiver. I'd lose count if I'd have to explain about personal achievements I'm proud of but, I'll go with a recent one. Not too long ago, I started a new case where like so many caregivers have tried to work the case out but, found themselves in bad positions to keep up with the assignment. The patient family even said that was their last tryout for their love one because the patient is TOTAL CARE and very demented. She fights a lot and the patient is very strong. Thx God with my skills, I'm the only caregiver that lasts longer with the patient and I'm still running her assignment. I know what song to play to make her take her meds. I know how to approach her to calm her down and make her listen to me and I know how patient that I gotta be to have her get in the shower for me. She's doing way better than before. It's all joy now in this family's house Hi am Esther Namuli , taking care of my grand parents , my parents opened my eyes so much that I wanted to take the care to another level by showing love and companionship to other families that needed me , so I went back to school and training about care giving , I love taking care of the people with Parkinson's , dementia, Alzheimer's, stroke, multiple across , and so many others if given a chance by ambulating, preparing meals, light housekeeping, transporting etc
