Nice to meet you! I'm Ashley Gagnon, I live in Auburn, and assisting clients and making life easier and more comfortable is one of my greatest passions. I'm eager to start helping out those in need in my community!

People often describe me as one of the kindest people they know. I believe I was put on this earth to help people, and caring for others is the way I choose to satisfy this calling. I was raised in a family that always went above and beyond for other people. As a child we often had someone staying in our guest room to help them through hard times and getting back on their feet. My mother is a pharmacist who owns our family business with my father. Working in and around the pharmacy has exposed me to people from all walks of life, and gave me the desire to work more hands on with patients. I have spent most of my life helping to care for my younger sibling with severe physical disabilities. In 2020 I began my first job as a PSS. I took care of one client full time, she had Lewy Body Dementia and was hospice. Here is where I found my love for memory care and end of life care. It isn't an easy job, and many people can't do it. But I love that I am able to give the gift of support and caregiving to my clients and families during these trying times. As I am also a licensed cosmetologist I also am happy to provide my clients hair with services, nail care, and skin care. With the risk of COVID-19 still widespread this is a perk many clients love as they don't have to leave home and expose themselves to receive these services. I am timely, reliable, and will go above and beyond to provide the best quality of care possible. I look at my job like this: If this was my parent, how would I want them taken care of? And that is the standard I hold myself to.

I'm an extremely empathetic, caring and compassionate person. I am a caretaker by nature and have always felt that doing such work I was born to do. I grew up taking close care of family members and got great joy from doing so. I feel caretaking gives me incredible purpose and can't imagine doing anything else.

In my previous state Connecticut I also was a medical asst. Here in maine you need to exam all over. Where healthy help is needed I love to be there.

I love being a caregiver because I enjoy helping people. My daughter was born legally blind with learning disability's as well as a post transplant patient. My father in law has dementia. I cared for one of my friends mother for over a year with Alzheimer most rewarding part of my life I would say I have the patience and kindness . Empathy and time to talk. Love biggest factor. I was both my parents caregivers at the end of their lives with the help of hospice.
