I've been a caregiver for 2 years now, I have experience with dementia and mental retardation. I'm trained in Washtenaw county for Med passing. I have experience in private settings and group homes. Being a caregiver is like taking care of my grandparents, it's gives me a fuzzy feeling that nothing else can give me .

I choose to be in this Field for many reasons, the Major one is because I have the heart and patients to take care of someone who is struggling. It makes me feel happy when I know there taken care of and still feel valuable to life. I love talking, I'll play cards or watch movies or go out and do activities with my patients. I'll treat them with care and love as if they were a family member of my own. Over the past 6 years I have gained a lot of knowledge working in the medical field so I do come with alot of experiences !

Some traits that I have that are necessary in the health care industry are patience, great communication, attentiveness, loyal, humorous, caring & respectful. One thing that attracted to being a caregiver is the way my clients feel after I've done my shift, me being able to help someone is enough for me to have a great day! I enjoy helping them and the most I enjoy about it is that I'm able to learn about them, where they've grown up, the things they've accomplished, just hearing their lives makes me happy and I know it makes them happy as well.

I've been in the medical field for over 25 years half of that I was employed at McLaren Hospital in the Heart Unit as a cardiac Tech /CNA .The last 10 years I have worked in home / hospice care and that is when I truly found my calling ,I absolutely love it .I am loyal, honest and definitely dependable and we all know how important that is when looking for a care giver. I will treat your love one as if they are my own . I am certified in several different area from CPR / first aid to straight catheter and most of all bringing a smile to your loved ones face !!!

I am dependable, optimistic and like helping people. I am a Massage Therapist and have always been drawn to helping people heal with touch therapy. The 20 years I have been a massage therapist I have been able to help people with so many ailments and keep them from having to have surgery or stay on pain medication. I was asked by a friend in the last year to help her when she found out she had Brain Cancer. I didn't expect that I would learn so much and feel like I had a purpose like I did. The journey that we took for the last 6 months was very special and I am proud that I had the chance to be there every step of the way right next to her and make a difference. In addition to being a very empathetic person, I'm also very patient with the people in my life. I understand that the people I provide care for are on a difficult and at times, emotionally stressful journey. I pride myself in keeping to a consistent work schedule because I understand that my clients depend on me for assistance. I'm also adaptable to client emergencies or changes to schedules. Answer to the question, what am I most proud of??? I have to say its my boys.. I got to bring up two amazing fabulous sons to being productive independent men, while working as a single mom. They make me proud.
