As a caregiver I strive to make the individual feel and know that person is appreciated and important. I went into caregiving because it is our duty to help those that need assistance and wanted to help those that didn't readily have it at their disposal. It makes me feel good to help others and to see them shine when they are around someone that is loving and caring. A personal achievement I am proud of is being a motivator to an individual I cared for in exercise and actually doing the exercises with him; also staying with a client as a direct support until she passed away. Acknowledging the value in an individual is what I will always do.

I am a dependable, well organized, energetic, caring and loving person who has a passion for taking care of others. I have experience with the elderly mainly from caring for my own grandparents the last seven years of their lives. My grandfather suffered from Alzheimer's and dementia. My grandmother had suffered a stroke and had cancer. Caring for them is where my passion for taking care of the elderly began. But I have always had a passion for helping in general. I have cared for the mentally and physically disabled as well. I have my associates degree in Health and Human Services now and look forward to continuing to help others as I utilize my new knowledge.

I just turned 69, this is one of many career I have had in the past years. I have worked in care giving for 1 0 yrs. My Mom was a caregiver, so I grow up around the elderly. They have lots interesting information to share and teach us. If we just take the time to listen. Loving, listening, caring, treating them like they are the special is my goal on each shift I work.

I am a mother of 2 who has spent most of my life taking care of others. I'm a down to earth and compassionate person. I like to make people feel as comfortable as they can around me. I'm very casual. I took care of my grandmother from the age of 16 to my early 20's, who was suffering from dementia. At the age of 24 I acquired my certificate to pass medication in ISL homes for the state of missouri and taking care of the needs for the mentally and physically handicapped. I am CPR and first aid certified. I enjoy meeting new people and getting to know them. I love to hear storys of there life. A personal achievement of mine is just my life in general. I feel blessed for my children and my home and the people I get to meet and care for.

I am a caretaker by nature.I was born to take care of people! I'm a mom of 2.I have over 11 years of experience working in clinics, hospitals, and nursing homes. I am loving and patient no matter what the circumstances are.

I have over 10 years experience. I am current on my CPR first aid, level one medication aide. I have worked in various areas of the health care field. Starting out with working with adults with different abilities, to Dr's office, hospitals, down to end of life care. I absolutely love working in the home setting because it's more personable. Im a very firm believer in treating others the way you want to be treated. With that being said your loved one will be treated as one of my family members. I enjoy being with my clients! I love the personal interaction and using all of my skills to respond to a variety of needs. Running my own in-home assistant business since 2011, I have acquired the knowledge and skills to work with clients who are aging and/ or have medical needs. As a former special education teacher, I have developed a great deal of patience and understanding of people of all ages and their individual situations. My motto is " Meet people where they are, and build from there." I take a commonsense approach to life and take pride in LISTENING to clients and their families to find the best possible outcomes. I can help fill in the gaps for families and individuals who need help with daily tasks, need respite, or just need social interaction.
