Becoming a caregiver happened when my great grandmother became sick, I was in Middle School. As her caregiver, I had to cook her breakfast before leaving for school, as well as bathe her. Also had to give medications as scheduled. Being a caregiver is one of the best things i've ever did, it gives me a really good feeling knowing that I am helping someone who can't do it for themselves.

I was attracted to home care because Of my wish to become a nurse, and so my sister helped me find a job as a HHA and my love for helping other and wanting to be a nurse grew from there. Being able to help others that can't do certain things for them selves doesn't bother me but actually helps me improve myself and grateful that I am able to do for myself they way some individuals can't. Something that I am proud of everyday is knowing that just me being an support for someone else and putting a smile on their face can go a long way, even change their aspect of life.

I have over 20 years experience. I'm a certified CNA in another state but I'm going to school right now to become certified in North Carolina. I have really grown to love my job especially working with the elderly. My grandmother is who inspired me for this job because she was sick and taking care of me when I was just a infant. She became sick with cancer and I couldn't take care of her because I was too young and she was in the hospital. No one was home to take care of her. I have now completed my Nursing Assistant program and I'm waiting to take my last state exam.
