Committed to everything I do giving up isn't an option. What attracted me to become a care giver? My granny & grandmother. When they got sick I was all they had I had to quit my job and take care of her 24/7. I went from watching her cook meals, going to bingo, invite her friends over, and especially helping me with everything to waking up one morning and she couldn't do anything let alone remember her name. Hello my name is Deshay and I am a certified personal care aide, I have been a PCA since 2019 and I also just recently received my CNA. I absolutely love caregiving, being able to help someone while they can stay in the comfort of their own home is my main goal! I have been in a few different settings when it comes to healthcare. I have worked in a nursing home, an assisted living home, and actual in home care. I am a fast learner and I can adapt to any situation pretty quickly. I know myself not everyday is going to be easy and some days can be more difficult than others but I take with a full heart and open mind and a compassionate demeanor. I watched my mom work in a nursing home for years, and I always looked up to her. I was always amazed at how much love she had for her residents and I could not wait to be apart of that! The thing that I enjoy most about being a caregiver is that I get to spend my day with different types of people and hear about life experiences and sometimes share common interests! It's amazing to hear what others have been through. My number one personal achievement that I am proud of was becoming a healthcare worker.
