I enjoy helping others and get great satisfaction out of being able to make a difference in people's lives. Working with mental handicap individuals right out of high school helped me see I was making a difference in their lives and I saw I was giving them the type of care they were lacking from others. I do not look at home care as just a job, but a relationship between individuals who you can build a bond with. I have not done home care in a long time and miss the interpersonal relationships I am able to have as a care giver. I am a 1st generation college graduate which is an achievement I am very proud of and has allowed me to take on a different occupation and be successful, but I miss my home care routes and want to do what I can to help others so I am looking at giving additional time for individuals in need.

With a long history of caring for individuals with developmental disabilities, as well as being a father of 3, and as I recently moved into the security field, I have always enjoyed and taken great pride in helping others. I took care of both of my grandparents before they passed away. I've always working in healthcare.

I grew up in a family of 10 and, being the 3rd to oldest, it came with a lot of responsibility. By 7 years old I could change, feed and put a baby to sleep. With this experience, came a sense of empathy for those in need. Caring for others has always been a morally rewarding task and I plan on assisting others for as long as possible. It is my passion to care for others. When my father was diagnosed with Alzheimers disease I realized I wanted to become a home health aid/ certified nurses assistant. Since his passing I've worked in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, as well as home care. I absolutely love to help and care for others in need.

I believe a caregiver should be someone that the patient can trust undoubtedly, and be able to bond with. After all we spend so much time with someone in their home everyone needs to be comfortable. I don't just see caring for people as a service but an honor.
