What drew me to this field initially was when my grandmother had a heart attack. There are some good hospitals in florida (where I lived at the time) but majority are poor quality. Unfortunately, my grandmother ended up in one that wasn't great quality. At 16 years old, I stayed in her hospital room, sleeping on the floor, to ensure that if she needed to toilet, I could help her. I helped bathe her, and spent time with her. I did tasks that a CNA should have been performing, but it was the best thing for her because it gave her a sense of dignity in a moment of her life that was hard enough as it was. I have been working towards getting my RN completed ever since; while this goal has still not been accomplished, I am working towards it. Family is important to me, as I'm sure it is to you for your loved one. I am a single mother of 2 boys, recently divorced. I am a hard worker, and very passionate about what I do. I take my time where it matters, and recognize that there is always room for education and improvement.

My name is Michelle. I have enjoyed the last two years of training and caregiving experience with the elderly. I have worked specifically in an assisted living environment, where I managed the home with 5 care residents per one caregiver. Additionally, I have worked in homes with 10 residents per two caregivers. In each home, I have been able to individualize the care to each person, as their needs may be. I have experience in crisis' management, fall risk, dementia (Alzheimer's) care, and much more. My responsibilities including keeping relations with families/nurses/care team members, cooking and serving meals, pristine cleaning of homes, showering/toileting and assistance with all Activities of Daily Living.

I have been a CNA for the past 5 years and currently I am in nursing school. My time in nursing school really honed my skills and knowledge, which has been invaluable in caregiving. Personal experiences have taught me compassion and resilience, essential traits in this field. The combination of formal education and real-life interactions has shaped me into a caregiver who is both competent and caring. It's been a journey of learning and personal growth that I'm truly proud of.

I have worked in a medical field for most of my life helping and taking care of people. For the past 11 years I have been taking care of people with developmental disabilities ranging from severe autism to severe mental retardation. I find my job very rewarding and I love providing companionship and most of all family for all of my individuals.

I've been a caregiver for a year now, but have previous experience in an emergency room. Originally I became a caregiver to gain experience for Physician Assistant school applications. I wanted a variety of health care experience and I found my place at a home health care agency. I have experience in caring for people with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, as well as general companionship. I am also willing to work with animals within the home.
