HELLO! My career as a caregiver started with a chronically ill father. Throughout my childhood and in my early teens my dad was very ill with diabetes Type 1. When I was 5 years old my dad lost his eyesight. As a preteen I participated in his care helping with blood sugar readings and Insulin injections. When I was able to drive I help out by taking him to doctor's appointments. I went away to college and lived in Florida for a few years and as my dad became progressively worse I moved home. I became increasingly involved in his care as my mother was worn out and had a very full-time job. At that point I decided to change career paths and go to nursing school. I am a local companion aide who has been in this field for over 15 years. Outside of providing care throughout the week I offer one on one attention on-site or in home for your loved one during special events such as weddings and birthday parties so you may enjoy the day with ease & comfort knowing that they are in safe hands. I specialize with the Alzheimer's and Dementia community as well as special needs. I am a volunteer with Hospice and I'm looking to fulfill this role when requested as well.
