Approximately 15 years ago, I became my mother's Caregiver after she came home from Rehab for a major stroke. After working in a Family Medical office for a couple years, I began my Caregiver career. In the past 10+ years, I have worked as a Home Health Aide and CNA, providing many services to families and their loved ones, including (but not limited to) Alzheimers, Dementia, Quadriplegic, and Hospice Care. Services provided include companionship, transportation, meal prep, feeding, light housekeeping, pericare, input/output, taking and recording vitals, catheter care, colostomy care, medication reminders, assistance with bathing, showers, dressing, transfers, wound care maintenance, and oxygen maintenance. My special focus has been with Alzheimer's and Dementia care. Hello everyone. I have been in hone health care for almost 1 year. Previous experience of 5 years in home setting, caring for 8 patients. I left to pursue a career in optics. I was a licensed Ohio optician for 20 years. Having been burnt out by retail, I decided to stay home with my children. When I realized I needed to get back into work, I decided home health was perfect and I've wished I had never left the field. I go home each day knowing the patients I care for are content and safe until the next day scheduled. Flexibility is key and I like to travel.
