I care a lot about the elderly. I first started out in this profession helping my father after my mother passed away. He was 75 and needed help with meals and cleaning the home, plus driving him to appointments. I also took care of my dad's sister, after her husband passed away. Helped with meals, took her to any appointments she had and helped with any cleaning around her home. She was 80 at the time and really needed my help. I've also taken care of friend's family members and also a girlfriend of my sisters who had surgery and needed someone with her for 3-4 days post op. It was a great experience doing that and feeling good about helping others. I enjoy the work that I do and look forward to meeting new clients and helping them with getting on with their daily lives. I will say first that I love being a certified nurse assistant in America and I thrive to become a better person while working in the healthcare field. The fact that I can be happy and nice on purpose and get paid for it is amazing but the award that comes with the job is unheard of. I enjoy the family you gain while providing care for someone. But most of all I enjoy giving the love ones a piece of mind knowing that they love one is in good hands while I'm assisting and helping take care of duties that needs to be done. I received employee of the month fours times in during the pandemic. Was very proud of myself for achieving that.

I recently moved from Nebraska. I have one child that I'm most proud of; he is my reason for it all!! I have my degree in Exercise Science and Sports Management. I did my internship with the football team at Peru State College and I really enjoyed being able to help some of my peers get back to competition . ( I tore both ACL so I know how tough it can be mentally and physically). Since then also every job I've had has been to help others... from coaching and training youth to behavioral health and caregiving to working at a resource center where I helped with homework, ACT prep and scholarships. I just let to help others when I can.

I am 54 years old. God gave me a gift to help elders, and I love that gift! I have been doing this all my life. I can't express enough how it makes me feel to go home knowing I made them smile, or laugh for that day. I think exercise is very important if they are capable, and Companionship, Honesty, and just having a heart that cares for people. I go above and beyond for my elders, and I will treat them as they were my very own.
