I think working as a caregiver I can help make the clients feel loved and cared for. Interact with them and learn about their backgrounds and listen to all kinda of stories. Hello, I am a mother of 3. Adopted & raised by my grandmother & stepgrandfather. At a young age, I was watching grandma care for her mother 1st we go to momo's house until after some years she moved in with us. I would watch and assist my grandmother in any way I could till her passing. We then brought my adopted fathers, mother to live with us and cared for her for almost 2 years until she passed. During that time learning, to listen to them, and being there for their needs I learned what upset them and I enjoyed spoiling them with love. I grew up left home, had children & made my way back to my hometown when my birth dad's father's dad, dementia started getting bad. My family moved into his house and began 24-hour care, it was all very new to him & us. I began to take classes to understand Alzheimer / Dementia & once I finished the class I had a clearer understanding of what he felt, & we came up with ways to always just meet his needs. I was his live provider for 2 & a half years until he passed. I took a break because losing him hurt. A few years later my aunt & uncle needed help. My aunt had Alzheimer's but with psychoses (something new for me) & My uncle was just minimal assistance but reminders of pills, & meals for 2 years. I enjoy people who need assistance, because I too have been 1st paralyzed (4 months) after a head-on collision & then a whole lot of recovery, and asking for help was not ever easy. Having my family care for me 24/7 weighed heavy on me. So I try my best to better understand exactly what is needed, whether that may be a listening ear, to an extremely weird story, or their upset voicing the changes they are going through. And I try to be understanding to them maybe not want to do a regular task so I bend things and change up the routine if that is what's needed. Because I know how it feels when your life has changed. I love it when it's my time to leave & they don't want me to go. I also love when I see the happiness in the family

** Vaccinated ** I consider myself to be a good caregiver by observing any changes in skin, behaviors, etc.. What attract me to being a caregiver is seeing my mother not being taken care of correctly and unfortunately losing her last year to covid. I enjoy being a caregiver to make them smile and not being so depressed, work with them on what they like to do. I am currently a CNA and working on finishing up my degree in medical assistant.

My personality traits and expertise helps to be qualified and makes me a great caregiver because I am very easy to get a long with, and I enjoy working with the elderly. I have more than 5+ years working with the elderly/disabled and have not had an issue with my clients. What attracted me to becoming a caregiver was when I was 17 n in my Junior my year of high school, I was working on becoming a CNA, and I just loved talking with the elderly in the nursing home every time I had to go to the facility for the classes. However, I unfortunately didn't get to take the test to become a CNA, due to school. Well, years later, my aunt needed a home provider, and I was available, although, she didn't have anyone that was reliable to work with her. I enjoy working with those individuals in need of assistance, whether young or elderly, it's in my nature to help others. The one achievement I'm most proud of was acquiring my GED, after so many attempts before, also im currently in workimg progress of getti g my diploma in Psychology, therefore, I am certified in "Mental Health Studies - Suicide, Violent Behavior and Substance Abuse." I've also have 4 other certificates that I've completed, unfortunately I don't have the funds to pay for my certificates at the moment. But once I do, I will put it towards my certificates and continue pushing myself further towards my goals.

Hi my name is Michelle...i have been in medical field for over 22 years, i am a certified nurse aide, and a certified medication aide. I have taken care of cancer patients all the way to Alzheimer's and dementia patients. i do use care and compassion and consideration when taking care of patients whom others find to be requiring a bit more assistance . I am all about patients or clients with their needs being met first. i can work alone or in settings with other team members. i have worked home health aide positions and hospice aide positions with my greatest achievements in that specialized area.

Identifying the needs of the client and listening instead assuming, having compassion, following the rules and making sure the clients are in a safe and clean environment. Wanting to care for the needs of others that need assistance and knowing that I may possibly make a difference in someones life. Tending to the needs of others, possibly putting a smile on their face and in their heart. I would have to say my personal achievement that I'm proudest of is seeing two of my clients that were admitted to the behavioral treatment center I worked at turn their lives around and have children of their own now and are great parents and they both told me that it was because of my guidance, compassion and the patience to listen when they really needed it that made it possible to trust and believe in themselves and others.

In high school I volunteered at a nursing home for about a year. So even though I have not worked home health care before, I have worked with the elderly. I am very patient and understanding to peoples needs. I do not mind doing things for others and I think helping others is an award within itself.
