I love being able to help people and take care of them. My grandmother was my best friend but she recently passed away and since then Iv felt drawn to being a caregiver and helping others and just giving them someone to talk to. I have 2 beautiful children who are my life and I want a job I'm able to be on their schedule also. I'm a very upfront outgoing person. I've been a Certified Nurse Assistant since I was 18 yrs old. I was helping my Mom out with my Dad during his battle with lung cancer. I enjoyed giving my Dad one on one care. I cared for him while my Mother was at work. Allowing him to be comfortable in his own home. After he passed I went on to take the CNA, CMA, Phlebotomy class at Kilgore College. I enjoyed mostly the one on one time spent with my patients. Getting to know them. I've worked in Long term care facilities. Prisons, Home healths, Assisted living homes. I mostly enjoy going into the homes as a Companion. Just giving somebody the option of staying home. Helping them with all daily living routines. Allowing them to still stay active. Giving them respect, dignity. Also giving them all my attention.

I always went the opposite direction from Healthcare while finding a career. Until I was forced to take on the role, I never thought I was the type.
