My name is Susan Kiarie. I have been a caregiver and a Medication Aide for the past 17 years, both in facilities and in-home private care, especially with different forms of dementia like Alzheimers, Parkinson and lewy body. After the diagnosis of our mother with Alzheimers, I realized how much care she needed and in return I knew this is what I wanted to do. What I enjoy the most about caregiving, is seeing the relief of families when I am there to help, in the comfort of their homes. I am proud to say that in the past 7 years of private caregiving, I have had only referrals, which helps me know that I must be doing something right. Thank you.

1. What actually makes me a great caregiver is my willingness to serve others and I believe it's my calling. 2. I became a caregiver because, I have great compassion for individuals in need of personal one on one care. 3. Their are several reasons why I like being a caregiver. The first reason is that I am able to be there for individuals that are in need of help. Another reason I enjoy being a caregiver is because, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and after the cancer she went into remission. Shortly afterwards, she was diagnosed with dementia. Recently she was diagnosed with Parkinson. I eventually had to move her into my home and I realized how self fulfilling and rewarding it is to serve others with sincere humility. I feel that as a caregiver each individuals that I care for should receive the best of care, compassion, and the best quality of care that life has to offer. 4. My most greatest achievement is yet to come because, I'm looking to achieve more tomorrow than I have today. Life is a lifelong learning process and when you think that you have achieved your greatest achievement there is still room left for more improvement.

I have been in Nursing Fields for 38 years I'm licensed CNA also Homehealth Aide ,very dependable easy to get along with and reliable. I have all my vaccines shots , Also have experience in house cleaning have my own business just haven't been working doing much of it but have been in business for 17 years of cleaning.

I'm a single mature caregiver, that has transitioned from medical settings to the private home. I'm skilled, experienced and a natural when it comes to providing in home/hospice care. I am a respectful and respecting lady. I love to care for the elderly as I want them to be happy, meet their basic needs, and be adjusted with their changes in health as life goes on. I have also seen that older people than myself like me. I did not have grandparents in my life, so I have a place for such elderly in my heart. Ever since I started visiting nursing homes and talking to them, I felt satisfied that I am meaningful to them and they enjoy my giving them company and sharing their thoughts. I'm very passionate about being a Caregiver. I never had the pleasure of meeting any of my grandparents so I have always wonder what it felt like. So being a Caregiver has introduced me to wonderful people. I have enjoyed baking cookies, listening to old love stories, as well as old war stories. I can surely see and feel how special grandparents and Elderly really are. I love the warmth of smiles, the hugs, and the sincere gratitude that's shared. I love just being a trustworthy companion to the most vulnerable. It's really heartfelt.
