My freshman year of high school there was a student who struggled with autism. I helped her do daily tasks, schoolwork, and eventually in-home tutoring. In the mix of this, my grandmother was also struggling with Alzheimer's and dementia. My family did not have the funds to hire in home health. Therefore, I would travel to help her daily, with bathing, eating, cleaning, and cooking. over the next 7 years from when she was diagnosed, I helped her every day. Even though it wasn't an ideal situation, I found comfort and joy in the idea of helping others. When I turned 18, I then joined professional settings where I found health care as my calling.
