I was too young to remember the story but my aunt says when I was 4 years old, that I comforted and reassured her when she was crying over a breakup with her boyfriend. I believe this was the beginning of my journey to care for others. I majored in Social Work and have had a wonderful 27 year career of working with children, adolescents and the aging. I have worked at UVA hospital where I gained insight into the importance of maintaining good health and how devastating a disease or accident is on one's health and life. I have worked for department of social services and assisted the aging with receiving the services needed to remain in their home or to move into a facility. At this time, I am doing "hands on" care in people's home to assist them with various activities of daily living. My mother was bedridden for many years and I was one of her primary caregivers. I know the burden on family when caring for a loved one and the importance of support. My grandfather lived to be 96 and I was there for him to assist with shopping, meal prep, housekeeping, medication reminders and transportation. I cherish the times that I spent with my mother and grandfather caring for them. I also cherish the support I received from others.

I have 20 plus years in the medical field primarily in patient care and really have enjoyed helping and working in my community . I strive to provide the best care possible for my clients and treat everyone with dignity and respect. This is my work but also my passion.

What helps me being a good care giver is going into the homes of elderly knowing I get to look forward to there days. Every since I was a little girl I always wanted to be a nurse and give back to the community. The most I enjoy is watching the clients exceed in life

I am very caring, attentive, empathetic and a professional at what I do. I have 14 years experience and have worked with hospice, home care and skilled nursing in my many years as a certified nursing assistant. What I love about being a caregiver are the connections I make with people and the difference I am able to make in their life. I have quite a few personal achievements that I am proud. The one I am most proud of is the hundreds of peoples lives I have touched by improving their quality of life and making their day a easier and brighter. I understand the feelings that come along with not being able to do the things one was able to do independently at one time. I am a very spiritual person and strongly believe in holistic approaches to create a balance in mind, body and soul for healing or better quality of life. I became a caregiver in 1997 because I want to try to help anyone in need. I like being a caregiver because I get enjoyment knowing that I am able to help someone in need. I am very proud to have successfully earned my Med. Tech License. I am a wife and a mother of two beautiful children. I am very dependable, trustworthy and respectful. I have been in this field of employment for many years, have great references, and would love to help take care of and spoil your loved one as if they we're my own family. This line of work isn't for everyone but I am positive that it is my calling. It comes naturally and easy to me when I am helping someone else with whatever assistance that they may need. I began my journey into the Caregiver when my grandmother got sick and I knew it was my calling. I really enjoy being there for others always. I am very patient and very concerned in the happiness and comfortableness of my clients. I follow instructions well and I do like to do a daily journal of my clients day so the family knows all that has happened throughout my day with their loved one.

I am easily to get along with and very understanding, empathetic, and sympathetic. I care about others and always tell myself how would I feel if I were them. I'm a people person and drawn to help people. Doing this kind of work is priceless and it gives me joy to help. I have had people in my family I had yo take care of until their last breath and I know how it feels to not have proper care for your love ones and so I do my work whole heartedly.
