I have been a caregiver for five years. The thing that keeps me motivated to do my job is knowing that I am making a difference in someone's live. I love to be able to help others when/where I can. The thing I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the bonds that are created with my clients and I. I learn a lot about a ton of different people and I always enjoy listening to stories about their lives. I am proud that I have learned patience doing this job.

I am caring, dependable, and trustworthy with an outgoing personality. I am highly motivated to take on a task, two, or three. I am self driven and am always looking to flourish in the world of healthcare. I have always been compassionate for the senior/elder population. I have several years of experience in healthcare and I'm looking to broaden my experience with home care while continuing my education. I find caregiving work to be personally rewarding knowing that I am able to help others. This alone makes hard work and dedication well worth it.

The best job I ever had was being a Home Care Aide Theres something about taking care of the Elderly and seeing the joy in their eyes when you walk through the door. They become family to me . I love to cook and hear stories from their past . To encourage them to do things they use to if they are still able Or atleast participate so they still feel capable .It takes special people to do this job and I believe I am one of them .
Skills & Certifications: Home Health Care, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

I started my caregiving career at the age of 12 when I started volunteering at a local nursing home. At the age of 19, I took the 120-hour course and became a Certified Nursing Assistant. I am still listed on the Wisconsin Nurse Aid Registry under my maiden name; however, I have not followed up with continuing education, so I can only perform these duties in a non-federal facility or home. I have worked in nursing homes as well as worked in private home care. I have extensive experience in caring for people with dementia and Alzheimer's Disease. I have cared for younger adults who have special needs, but my main experience is in caring for the elderly. My philosophy is to treat the people under my care the same way I would want a loved one to be treated. I believe it is always possible to maintain dignity regardless of the help needed. I see people, not diagnoses. I am very intelligent and friendly and have an excellent sense of humor, which is so important in this kind of work! I am most interested in live-in home care for one family. I believe that continuity of care is extremely important for establishing trust. I find that it can be confusing and distressing for you or your loved one when there is a revolving door of caregivers. Also, I find that the loved ones of the person receiving care rest much easier when they have one point of contact. I would expect that there would be some respite hours on my behalf to avoid caregiver burnout; however, I would still be available if a respite worker couldn't come for his or her shift. I currently live in Two Rivers, WI, but am open to relocating for the right position. Thank you for reading this and I hope you reach out with any questions. Excellent references available upon request/interview.
