I've been a caregiver for 31 yrs. I started in this field when I was just 17. I love what I do. I come from a medical family and decided at a very young age that i wanted to be a doctor or nurse. I specialize in geriatric dementia and Alzheimers care. Every client needs to know they're truly cared for on every level with love, patience, and kindness. I enjoy learning from them ... they often have amazing histories, stories and lessons to share.I'm often with my clients for the duration of their lives.

I started caregiving because a friend needed a live in caregiver, companion, help with medications, bathing, housekeeping and laundry. I took care of Edgar J. Ramsey from 2008 to 2012 until he passed away.I like helping people, feeling needed and pampering my clients. Once Mr. Ramsey was choking on a hot dog and I saved his life. Since working with Mr. Ramsey I am ready to work and would be grateful for an opportunity, I need a job ASAP. Thank you I have another job but can definitely work you!

Having empathy, compassion, patience, attentiveness, dependability, trustworthiness, and respectfulness makes me a great caregiver. To provide support to those who need it the most and to help improve the quality life of everyone I touch. I enjoy jobs where I have one-on-one interaction with. I like that I have the potential to make a difference in someone's life and bring a smile to their faces. Finishing my CNA course and passing my state board. Being a mother and wife it was not easy, it was challenging! But I never gave up and at the end it was all worth it!!

Becoming a caregiver takes a special type of person. Some do it for the money and some do it for the passion to take care of people. I became a cna to reach out and give quality care needed for the elderly people. Sometimes there's a lack of the care provided and I thought from me becoming a CNA I would be able to make an impact in residents life. Given differentials in the rehabilitation center for the elderly I came across many challenges. I was placed to care for the dementia hall for most of my CNA career. I learned more in depth about each resident and their disability/disease; this built not only a bond with each individual but a better character for myself as well. It's sad seeing the need for assistance in activities these ones can't do themselves. It's a very rewarding feeling seeing their faces when you willingly help them not because it's your job but because you deeply care for your residents. I love taking care of others and giving back to the community! Not only does it help these residents but it gives a sense of relief to their families knowing they're in good hands. I am a hard worker and have a flexible schedule I currently am in the nursing program working towards registered nursing
