I became a caregiver in 2001 and have been doing it for over 18 years.. I like getting to know people and caring for them.. I want to treat them like they were my family member.im glad to give my time and do something I love to do.. I like to go out my way to make my resident happy..I'm very caring and I love to help out other people .. I like to take pride in my work and I do my best to make me and everyone happy...im very happy when im doing what i love.. I have been a home health care giver here in Las Vegas for 6 of those years out here in Las Vegas. I have been CNA through one of the companies I have worked with. It's hard to talk about ourselves but I'll give it a try, I was introduced to caregiving by a family member since that day I went and got my self in school to get my cna certification later on I also received my dsp certification. This career is very rewarding for me, helping people and providing support to the people that needed the most is what I enjoy doing the most. I am patient, a good listener and enjoy working closely with others - especially older people. I have many personal experience taking care of the elderly & loved every second of it. Being able to help those is need is the only thing I want to do. Checking on your senior loved one's health is an important caregiver responsibility that I can fulfill with no hesitation. I have over a year experience in this field. At the age of 17, before turning 18 my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer and shortly placed on hospice. While being placed on hospice, I was the only one who took care of her, with this came along providing care for her 24/7. Not only was she on hospice but she was also diagnosed with dementia which stopped her from doing her daily needs. I would provide assistance with cooking, cleaning & giving medication as prescribed until she passed. In 2021, I was a home care provider assisting my mother who worked for IHSS. Took turns giving care for my aunt who is mentally disabled. She is 49 with the mindset of a 2 year old. 24 hour care is needed to help support her daily needs. Tasks included changing diaper, feeding her, give medication as prescribed & taking her out for her daily exercise which included morning walks.
