I've been a caregiver for 35 yrs. I started in this field when I was just 17. I love what I do. I come from a medical family and decided at a very young age that I wanted to be a doctor or nurse. I specialize in geriatric dementia and Alzheimers care. Every client needs to know they're truly cared for on every level with love, patience, and kindness. I enjoy learning from them ... they often have amazing histories, stories and lessons to share.I'm often with my clients for the duration of their lives.

I'am a warm compassionate and caring individual. It my way of giving back we had help with my mom when she broke her hip. Helping other people making sure they are cared for. I worked with a man with Parkinson disease as well as a diabetic. He was 96 years old when I begin working with him. He was on hospice, with six months to live, he live to be 100 years old and six months. His children say that was due to my cooking and taking care of him, talking with him he just needed someone to show him love and attention.

Caregiving for me means taking the act of providing help and comfort to my clients . It can involve many different activities, such as grocery shopping; help with dressing, eating, toileting; or providing emotional support to another person while they navigate a physical, emotional, or health challenge.

I became a caregiver when my grandmother got I'll I was the one caring for her till The time of her death,I felt so much joy in my heart knowing I was able to make her transition with comfort. I am punctual, very compassionate about what I do for people who have lost some independence from a life event. Compassion for the family involved to help lessen the burden. I like to tell stories that help the family get to know who I am and I love to hear stories from them as well. I have been a caregiver since I was 18. I took care of my father who had esophageal cancer. I handled a gtube, medications, attachments for feedings, drs appts everything. From that time on i knew I could make a difference for those who need that help and companionship. I have worked for a company for a short time but I didnt like how they didn't follow through so I'd rather work for a family who can appreciate the care and love I can give to their loved ones. Encourage patient to exercise. Review & ask dietary restrictions, preferences, & allergies. Change bed linens, replace trash bags. Always check expiration of food & medicines. Know vital information about patient's condition, treatment plan & any suggested activity.. In a capsule, it is very important to respond immediately to patient's call for assistance and/or treatment with the goal of creating a safe, effective environment to make a difference in the lives of the patient & their families. Patience is a virtue inherent in me. I always work above & beyond my duty for the comfort & safety of my patients.
