Making a difference in people's lives has been a passion of mine. My family owned a Nursing Home/Home for the Aged for 36 years. This is were my passion for taken care of people was instilled in me. I worked as a caregiver, cook and handled recreation programs for our residents. Throughout the years I worked for Connecticut Hospice, The Alzheimer's Resource Center, and as a Private Caregiver for children and adults. I had the honor of caring for my Dad and both my Grandmother who all had Alzheimer's. There are many types of Dementia. Training and knowledge is important to understanding the needs of your love ones and clients you care for. This past December I completed training courses for The National Caregiver Certification Program, Understanding Alzheimer's and Dementia and 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer's. These certification courses provided me with new ways to communicate with Dementia clients. I make sure the things that are most important to my client are done every shift. This is achieved by asking your priorities, then once they're completed if time allows I do my best to tackle the non-priorities. Compassionate, reliable, punctual, treating everyone with dignity and respect are values I live by.

What makes me a great caregiver is my inability to give up. I will push until my patient receives the proper treatment and is fully satisfied. I love working as a caregiver making sure my client has comfort when no one else is around and they always have a smile until their no longer requesting my service. I got into this field with my own experience dealing with my grandmother who died from Alzheimer's it was really hard not being able to speak up for her and make her feel more comfortable so I vowed to speak up for those in need and make sure to never fail them.

He passed away in a nursing home and I wanted to make a change in this field . Doing that would be bringing my upbeat energy . I worked at American Airlines for 18 yrs.Our office was closing and I had an option to relocate out of state or a buy out with an eligible early retirement package.At that time,my sister was in critical care for TBI.I chose to leave my job and care for my sister full time for the next 2 yrs.I understand the needs family have to care for their loved ones,the challenges,and the personal rewards of keeping their loved ones home.

Hello! I take pride in what I do because I genuinely care about the well-being and comfort of all of my patients. I am very confident in my work ethic, mainly because of all the years of experience I have. I've worked at multiple nursing homes, starting back in 2016. The most important thing to me is building long-lasting relationships with my patients and their families. A little background information about me is I am a Certified Nursing Assistant and also CPR & First Aid Certified. I am so also OSHA certified by the state of Connecticut.
