About me. I've been a caregiver for 23 years I moved to Alabama in 2009 where I worked for affordable home care for 8 years. I'm very responsible kind and compassionate taking care of elderly and disabled is something I feel I was born to do I've been told my heart was too soft but is there really a such thing..I live what I do. My oldest child is 30 years old, I also have a 21 year old, and a 13 year old. My children are my greatest achievements and they are where my caregiver "carrier" truly started. They taught me a great deal of patience, they taught me to be reliable and flexible. All are things that I use in my caregiver profession still today. Through them I have learned I love helping people. When I have a client they become a second family to me. For me seeing the smile of a family member I have helped leaves me with a worm fuzzy feeling that cant be explained. Well i want to become a caregiver because i love people i am a people person and i have had older grandparents and an older parent i know theres nothing like having compassion for an elderly person and treating them with the up most care i look at it like this the elderly have feelings too and if that was my parents or grandparents what kind of care would i like them to have . When i was caring for my grandmother it took alot of patients and time to get her use to someone doing things for her because she was so use to doing everything on her own. my grandmother sufferred with alheimers, dimentia and took alot to get her to understand that she needed someone to help care for her. i enjoyed that feeling that i was accomplishing something and it kept a smile on her face to know that she had someone there to love her and take care of her. I am a very patient caring person i love people ,I am a very friendly and loving individual, outgoing.
