I became a caregiver because of my mother, At the age of 10 my mother died and I couldn't do nothing to help her. So I decided to get in the medical field for that reason. I love being a caregiver because it is a passion of mine to see people smile, and live there life to the fullest. Hi, my name is Michelle. I am a 50 year old mother of 3 and have one grandson that is 10 years old that I adore. I have spent my entire life caring for others, whether it be my family or clients. I feel like God has given me a gift of compassion that spills over in everything that I do. I have always had a passion for helping people. I have been to nursing school, but because of unforeseen circumstances, had to quit one month before graduating. I started working as a caregiver shortly after that about 10 years ago. I have worked for clients with dementia, Parkinson's disease, cancer and just for companionship. I have assisted with all ADL's, bathing, grooming, dressing, meal preparation, housekeeping, shopping, medication, ambulatory assistance, doctor appointments, running errands, etc. I love being able to help someone in the stage of life where most feel like they are a burden and useless. I try my best to help them feel independent and useful, as well as have dignity that they may feel they have lost. I always try my best to treat each client as I would my own family.
