I am a caregiver because I love people. There are not enough people to give care and attention to folks who need another set of strong yet gentle hands. There was one resident in particular that was hard for CNA staff to get along with. She wasn't very friendly at first but I squatted down in front of her, and explained this was the job I chose to do because I love helping people. She could see I was sincere, and warmed up to me knowing she wasn't a burden to me, and I liked helping her. I am in my second semester of school for Respiratory Therapy. I am love being in my yard gardening. My first grandchild will be 1 year old this July 21st. I'm a pretty good cook and a tidy house keeper.

I was a licensed CNA from 2004 to 2019. I became certified when I was just 17 years old and I have loved helping people my whole life. I have worked in skilled nursing facilities as well as in-home settings. Hello! My name is Valencia and I am 23 years young. I am a social work major and absolutely love working with people. My goal is to complete my masters and become a hospice social worker. When I was 15 my grandpa died from ALS and I decided I wanted to be a care giver. At 18 years old I got my first job in health care at a group home with individuals who were developmentally delayed. I worked a bit in an assisted living and realized that I had a passion for geriatrics. I have experience with cerebral palsy, diabetes, autism, hospice care, non verbal and dead clients. I have excellent companionship skills. I find myself to be hard working and I have excellent people skills. I find 1 on 1 time to be very important. Everybody has a story to tell and everybody deserves to be heard. Whether you need help with meal prep, showering, med reminders, or even something as little as listening to a story or painting nails, I'll be there.

I have been a CNA since I was 16! My mother is a nurse and I followed in her steps. I am a mother of a 10 year old boy that happens to be my biggest accomplishment in life. I love to meet new people and new experiences. I have my BLSC.(CPR) I also have my food Handling Certificate and food alergin certificate.

I have taken care of many family members throughout my lifetime with situations including hospice and post-orthopedic surgery. I realized that the compassion and empathy I was able to give others was a gift, what better way to use it than to take care of those who cannot take care of themselves. I have won awards for customer service and for being an exceptional preceptor at the current healthcare facility I work at. At the end of the day, no matter how difficult it was I am happy because I was able to help someone.
