I've been doing caregiving since 1989,taken care of handicap children, adults, quadriplegic, paraplegic, feeding tubes, suction machines, cancer patients. Worked in nursing homes, but I prefer in home care because I love the 1 on 1 care I can give to my clients of all ages.

At the small age of 9 i would help my aunt take care of my Great grandmother. Dressing and feeding and just being there for her. I've always wanted to be someones light in their darkest times. Taking great care of people is what I know. I've done caregiving my whole life and I always enjoy meeting new people and hearing the stories of how life used to be. I believe everyone deserves to have a good life even better a great ending. No one should ever feel unloved or wanted when they need help. I want to make life easier for other's, as we know illness doesn't make anything easy. I moved to lincolnville to help take care of a family member before corona. She had dementia and Alzheimer's as well as DVT. She passed away october 2020. She was and is an amazing soul. To put it simply, I love what I do and I love to help anyway i possibly can.

I am patient , Hardworking , Honest , Professional , Dependable. I love the elderly also it is rewarding experience not just a job. I advocate for the Elderly also Adults with Disabilities another one of my rewarding and passionate experiences . I was nominated for the Obudsman Award for an outstanding Professional in the Healthcare field in 1990 by Bethany Lawrence Founder , Owner , President of Aging Excellence whom I worked for 11 years.

I have been a CNA/CRMA for 8 years. I have mostly worked elder care. I have experience with children and adults. I am hospice certified and have a current CPR certification. I can assist with ADLS of all kinds.

Kindness, compassion, and empathy are vital in being a caregiver. I feel that when caring for someone's family member it is important to remember that they too were once young, and spry. They deserve respect and dignity as if they were a family member of my own. I have been a CNA in the past, and spending those extra minutes to do a residents hair, or shave a residents face just the way he likes it is so important in helping them to feel like a person. I care for a close family friend now after my regular work hours because I enjoy spending the time with her and helping her with activities of daily living but also encouraging and supporting her in maintaining the independence that she is able to safely have. A personal achievement that I am proud of is maintaining my CNA licensure while working a full time MA job. I did this so that I could continue to work with residents on weekends when I am able because they truly hold a special place in my heart.

I have worked as a caregiver and feel like I am good at it because I am an empathetic person; I care deeply about people! Also, I am attentive and and fun to be around! I love many different activities and am interested in many topics. I have traveled around the world and so have interesting stories to share. As a mother of four, I have learned the art of patience and tolerance; I am also a grandmother of 3!

I have been a CNA for over three years now. I have worked in a psych facility as well as various nursing homes and in home care. I love this field because I get to meet new people and help them with their daily needs. I love being able to talk with clients and get to know about their past and future plans. It's a good feeling to be able to put a smile on someone's face and give them the attention and care they need.
