I've worked as a HHA (home health aide) and RA (facility living). I've very trust worthy when it comes to showing up on time and on short notice. I love talking to my residents about their past lives to really get to know them and what they love. I just moved down here from the jackson Michigan area and I'm ready to start helping people in community using my skills!

I'm the oldest sibling and grandchild which means I am a natural caregiver. I love getting to know people and learning about their history or hearing stories they may share. Or, sitting in silence as we read a book or color together. Cooking and cleaning are other ways to show love and care for people. I love my "job" because it never feels like going to work. Helping people is engrained in me and it's truly the best fit I can imagine as far as a career.

I have worked in health care all my life. I've worked with kids and adults with mental and physical disabilities, in schools, group home settings, and within the home as well. I've worked for Bronson Hospital for ten years, before discovering my true passion, in home care. I'm gregarious, positive, and like bringing a sense of joy and humor to work with me every day. Credentials include behavioral, CPR, and First Aid training. I am passionate about caring for those in need giving a helping hand. Knowing I could make a difference in their life and seeing a smile on their face brings joy and purpose to my life! What inspired me to get into caregiving was my Grandma. In the beginning, she just needed help with little things. Then, as time passed she needed all around care. It felt good to help her. I saw a need that I knew I could fulfill, not only for her, but others too. A personal achievement that I am most proud of was becoming an APC (Assistant Program Coordinator). I had applied 2 other times and didnt get the job. I had to build more skills and fight harder for it and the people I loved to help. I am thankful for the experience it has helped me to be a better caregiver.

I became a caregiver caring for my sister with autism and then my grandfather who had a tracheotomy and needed a caregiver and I cared for him. I realized as a teen that I had a gift for helping people and wanted to do it as a career.
