I have been doing home health care for over 20 yrs now. I love my job and what I do. If I can make someone's life easier then I know I have done my job. I Love people And not just anyone can do this kind of work. You have to have a passion for people, and that's what I have. Every client I have had love my work. I'm good at what I do because I love what I do.

What I love most about being a caregiver is that you know your doing a good deed by having a relationship with you client & caring for them with the most respect & being dependable.

I was born in Lansing MI, and at two I moved to Grand Rapids, I went to Eastern Elementary School and then to Creston High School. I took up Machine Shop and Architectural Drawing. I was the oldest of 12 children. After high school I took a Tool & Die Apprenticeship. I also worked as a volunteer for the fire department. I built a house in Sparta Township where I live with my wife. I retired from Tool Die 2010 because of cancer. Then I started volunteering at Rest Haven Homes which ended up in a paid position. I enjoy making some one happy and to do the things they enjoy and also to be a companion and a friend. I do transportation to doctor appointments, dentist appointments, shopping, movies, out to eat, visit a friend, errands, or travel, I also do in home care with dressing assistance, mobility, exercise, meal planning, and preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, etc. I have completed classes on Hospice Care, Dementia, and worked at Rest Haven Homes for 12 years, and 3 1/2 years with Leaves Personal Care.

Love feeling needed. Also love giving the patient the best, day possible. Love to watch old movies, bring old postcards, or cook be dishes their mother made in the past. Miss my own grandparents terribly. Caregiving fills that void for me. Love, it when my patients relive the past, and feel young again! I have cleaned residential homes and cottages since 2004. I am a detailed cleaner and give 100% in what I do. I love kids and fury pets but prefer non-smokers (inside home that is) and can be flexible as to what each family's needs may be in their home. I am also a state certified CNA with my MA, PCA certificates and up-to-date BLS I have worked the ER, Med/Surg and ICU along with private duty, Dementia and Alzheimer's at a assisted living. My name is Angelica and Ive been a caregiver for 16 years. I'm very good at what I do. I care for kids, seniors, and special needs people. I'm a very happy person. I love to cook, clean, I love to be organized. The thing that made me become a caregiver I use the care for my grandma before she passed away and also cared for my aunt that has scoliosis. So that made me a strong helpful person , Also when I see a person struggling with their groceries outside of the stores I like to help people put them in the car or holding a door open and etc. I'm a very caring person. I like to do a little bit more then my job Duty but as long as if that's okay with you like helping around the house or anything else . Also love doing hair, I cut, I color hair, and style and also do nails.

I became a full time caregiver about 3 years ago when my grandfather stared to go downhill. He became sick and had lived in his own house with my grandmother. He was 94 and at the time 88. My grandfather who's mental status was completely there started to need a lot of help getting around the house, making food, cleaning, going places and etc. I have 4 uncles and everyone pitched in because my grandmothers mental state was starting to deteriorate as my grandfathers physical status decreased. I started to spend about 4 nights a week there trading off with mainly my dad and other uncle to make sure when they got up at night they didn't fall. I made meals, helped with showers, cleaning and just about everything else. My grandpa passed in 2017, and we had to take care of my grandma, who's mental status had completely deteriorated after her husbands death. We took rides, went shopping, got food, and had a lot of fun. She eventually got very week and we couldn't do it all alone. So we got her into grand pines, which is a amazing facility! They helped us through a lot but I really enjoyed just sitting with her doing my homework and listening to her be happy and just talk away. That's why I know I would love a job to be a caregiver, I love to be company and do little fun activities that I know the person I'm taking care of would enjoy too.
