I am a healthcare professional with 25+ years experience working in geriatric, memory care, dementia and Alzheimer's patients. I work in hospice care, palliative medicine, end of life care. I am a patient, compassionate, good listener, kind, caring caregiver. I do skilled nursing, wound care, first aid, post surgery care for transitioning patients to homecare. My start in healthcare was volunteering at the Red Cross, church and community outreach , I have worked eight years at the Washtenaw County DHS with CLS/CMH organizations as consumer advocate . I have worked long years managing assisted living facilities, nursing homes, directing memory care units, training, teaching and mentoring. I have earned Bachelor's of Science from EMU and Surgical Technology program from WCC. I am passionate about helping people to better their lives and improve their health.

My name is Rebecca. I've been a professional care giver for over 19years. I love my job because it has so many rewards within itself. I've managed a 6 man group home for the last 4 years with only minuscule issues. Regardless of the fact that I have children at home I'm quite flexible with scheduling although I would love to work mornings while my children are at school, it's not a must and I have no problem doing overtime.

What makes me a great caregiver, is the love and passion I have to be one to care for another. I enjoy doing it, im not in it for the paycheck, I do it because it makes me feel good knowing I can help someone. I always grew up wanting to help others in one way or another.. I enjoy the smiles I can give someone simply by being there to assist them, knowing someone enjoys my care makes my heart swell. My biggest personal achievement I am proud of, is, my son.

I have always loved helping and taking care of people as a child. I realized it was a talent I had when I grew up and I have loved it ! I enjoy putting smiles on people's faces from the help I give them. As a caregiver, I've learned to love and beloved by my patients. They teach me new things each day. I am truly passionate about caring for others, whether it's children or seniors or someone with a disability; it means a lot to me to be able to do so. Over the years I have gained exceptional skills to be able to provide families with care for their loved ones. I am honest and dependable and always on time. I started out in this field at a very young age and have built so many relationships during my journey. What attracted me to patient and client care initially was my genuine love for caring for others and the ability to make a difference. I've become experienced in memory care, dementia care, long term care, hospice, youth care, developmentally disabled care, and general patient care which I did through Michigan Medicine. I am now in nursing school to get my RN degree . I believe I will be an amazing nurse from all of my experiences with families like yours.

I was born in a caregiver role as a child. I took care of my siblings when I was much younger. When I was in middle school my grandmother had an operation on her back and I took care of her until she was able to take care of herself. I was in school and I wanted to take care of the elderly. So I took a C.N.A. course and I worked at the School of Nursing. I worked with an elderly woman privately and I enjoyed watching movies with her. She loved Forrest Gump. I like the assignment that I have. I got her walking when they said she couldn't walk, I got her up from being bed bound twice. I had to help her. First we crawled, then she stood up, balance was our next step, and then a few steps here, and then full walking transfers! They said she is a walking miracle. I am proud of myself that I was able to follow doctors orders, nurse orders, P.T. and O.T. exercises.

I became a C.N.A because I had a family member Who was terminally ill and I know how emotionally taxing it was on me and my loved ones to find a caregiver that showed not just the skill set but the compassion that it took to treat my family like there own. So I keep that in mind on every client that I take. I plan to bring i high skill set along with compassion to every person I encounter because they're not just a client to me they're family.

I specialize in many walks of life. I have worked in rehab as well as long term. I am covid vaccinated with booster and cpr certified.

I have been working doing care giving since i was 12 when my aunt had a hernia removed and the nurses that came in started showing me how to change the dressings and change her iv tubing. I have worked in health care most of my life. I took care of my mom and grandparents. I was trained at UofM wound care clinic for my mom. I also went to school for medical assistant. I experience taking care of wounds, autistic, dementia,Alzheimer's, people with hearing and vision and who are bed bound. Ive worked with people on hospice. I love helping others and taking care of them and helping them living there best life. I love listening to the stores people tell me. Especially the elderly the stories they tell sometimes have great lessons behind them. I still talk to some of my cleints i took care of they message me or if i see them out at the store they come up and give me hugs and tell me how much they love and miss me which makes me feel good and that i could be a positive person in their lives. I have had cleints that had noone else and who i made a differnece in their lives when they thought no one cared about them. One of my personal achievements is i dropped out of high school to take care of my mom so after she passed i was in my 20s i went back to school got my GED and went to college.

I started my career in Health Care right out of High school. I have over 20 years experience. I have worked Nursing Homes, Hospitals, Hospice. With that I have seen a lot & been taught by some amazing leaders. I go into each home with the attitude of this could be my Parent/ Grandparent, Treat them as how i would want my family cared for. My favorite thing about being a caregiver is the history of my patents. It brings so much joy to see them smile and relive there favorite memories of the past. I held my Certified Nursing assistant license for many years & only gave it up when I choose to not work in Nursing Homes. I keep up with all the latest training & have many certificates.
