I would be a great caregiver because I worked and love my elderly people.. Without them I wouldn't be where I am now. I moved here in NC to help take care of my grandma when I was 12. I've learned lots of things from my grandma..Took care of her til she was 101 years old. My mom and sisters all are in the nursing field and that's what attracted me to being a care giver. The most I enjoy being a caregiver is meeting new people, talking to them and most of all getting to listen to all the stories they lived when they was little. A kind smile or a pat on your back of a job well done.. Not to mention when they ask you Are you coming back ? Is a stamp of approval for me that it was a very good day and a job well done.

I'm very compassionate toward the elderly. They make me feel needed when I am taking care of them. My mother needed help as her sickness progressed and I knew then that I had to be her caregiver. Their wonderful stories from the past! And the companionship! To have the family and elder to love me as one of their own!!

I decided to go into Nursing because of my desire to love and care for people and help them achieve goals and continue their activities of daily living as long as possible. It gives me a feeling of satisfaction to know I've helped or had a hand in someone's comfort. I've worked in Nursing Homes in all different levels of care, The VA, and home health. I've trained in many areas such as Medication Tech, Supervisor In Charge, CPR and First Aid. I've have worked in several homes as a supervisor, with the jobs of: hiring employees, scheduling, Drs. Apps, RX orders and refills, filling daily med packs, ADL's and actual home health care... I've been in home health/nursing for over 30 yrs and it is my passion. I've been married 30yrs, have 3 grown sons, 2 granddaughters , and 2 grandsons. I love people and interacting with them. I like reading, walking, exercising and spending quality time with my family....

I became a care giver because I like to help people, my mother works for Hospice and she has done this type of work since I can remember. I love this type of work !! What I like about being a care giver is getting to know different people I love listening to their stories they have to tell, also I like the company. My personal achievement is going back to school for my bachelors degree in Health & Wellness and Office Administrator, I will graduate in 2015. I am a Mom of 4 children 2 are in the military and the other 2 live in Ohio. I am currently in school and I just moved to this area from High Point in April of this year. I became a CNA because i like the fact that i can help people who are unable to help themselves. What I like most about being a CNA is knowing that i am doing my job for a good cause and helping someone who may not be capable of fully helping themself. To make another indivdual happy makes me happy, and To feel like I gave my best to care for a person who needs help brings me great pride.A personal achievement that i am proud of is getting through the steps of becoming a CNA, the desire i have to help others is so strong i just knew that if i had my mind set on achiving the goal in helping people that i was going to do it, and after achieving that goal I was filled with joy and accomplishment. I find myself to be a very outgoing person , i find that helping people is what brings me the most joy. my weakness are the fact that i put people before myself because i feel what builds my strength most is being able to know that what i do is for a good cause and that I gave someone my all as I would want one to give To any family member, Friend or even myself. Aside from being a CNA i am a good friend, sister, daughter, and mom. I am a big family person and i enjoy time and vacations spent with family. I am a person who is both devoted to my work and to family.

For the last 7 years I took care of both of my grandparents until their last day. My grandmother had been diagnosed with dementia. Naturally over the years she progressively got worse and passed at 90. Almost a year to the day later my grandfather at 98 had stroke and passed 3 months later. I maintained their home, coordinated all of their care, appointments, meds, cooked, bathed and cleaned. It was the most rewarding years of my life. I understand the value of a reliable, honest, loving caregiver as I have experienced it first hand
