I retired from nursing in Aug 2020, and found out I missed caring for patients. I get enjoyment from taking care of clients, catering to their needs, and helping them to feel better. I presently provide care for 2 clients for a total of 10-15 hrs a week. I would like clients close to home, within 10 mile radius. I am honest, dependable, reliable, and most of all a caring individual. Seeing them feel better about themselves is fulfilling. A patient once asked me how I could wipe a person's buttock and not find it degrading. I told her if it made her feel better that's all I needed to know. That helping people feel better was my pleasure in life.

I have 15 years of experience working with different medical diagnoses and age groups in private home, rehab, and nursing home setting. Providing personal care, companionship, and homemaker services. My biggest passion is caring and helping people in need. It is a very fulfilling and important part of my life. When I'm not working, I spend my leisure time kayaking, walking/hiking, reading, being creative and taking care of myself and my home. I worked as a caregiver for Home Instead Senior Care and private caregiving for two years. I have extensive training on all senior care aspects, to include medication management and care procedures. I have cared for clients with different forms of dementia, Parkinson's, physical disabilities, and medical issues. I am familiar with personal care, end of life care, and companionship. My story.. When I was 14 years old my grandmother was diagnosed with dementia. She declined very fast and my grandfather (already being 76 years old) couldn't care for her on his own. So my twin brother and I moved in full time with my grandparents and helped care for her at a very young age. Soon after she passed my grandfather was diagnosed with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, and my family was ready to find a LTC facility (Long Term Care facility) where they could care for him. My brother and I absolutely refused the idea of him being moved out of his home he worked so hard for, so we then continued to take care of him until last year. My whole life has been dedicated to caring for other individuals. Not only do I hold myself to the highest standards of care, but I love doing what I do and show compassion at an all time high, because I put myself in other individuals shoes. This job/career will be my career for a lifetime and I am an extremely family orientated person.
