I retired from nursing in Aug 2020, and found out I missed caring for patients. I get enjoyment from taking care of clients, catering to their needs, and helping them to feel better. I presently provide care for 2 clients for a total of 10-15 hrs a week. I would like clients close to home, within 10 mile radius. I am honest, dependable, reliable, and most of all a caring individual. Seeing them feel better about themselves is fulfilling. A patient once asked me how I could wipe a person's buttock and not find it degrading. I told her if it made her feel better that's all I needed to know. That helping people feel better was my pleasure in life.

I strive at caregiving because I am personal with my clients, making my service about them and their needs. I am always looking for ways to improve their lives!

My biggest passion is caring and helping people in need. It is a very fulfilling and important part of my life. When I'm not working, I spend my leisure time kayaking, walking/hiking, reading, being creative and taking care of myself and my home. I'm blessed with strength and good health, patience and understanding, and I believe this is why former caretaking clients always asked for me. I look forward to meeting you!

My name is Chelsea. I have worked in nursing homes/ primary care for 10 years. I find myself a very caring, compassionate, patient and understanding person. I try to find the good in every situation. In the last year I took a break from healthcare and took a position in childcare. Somewhat the same as care giving but on the other end of the spectrum. I enjoy creating relationships with my patients and giving them the care they deserve. While working in elderly care I found a majority of the staff was there for the paycheck, I can't say that for myself. I felt important as I became closer with my residents as they felt the comfortable with me as they couldn't with some of the staff. Caring for people makes me feel good because I am making someone feel happy and that is important at their time in life no matter what age, Having to have help is always hard and to have someone that understands , is patient and kind is key in my eyes.

I possess a high level of attention to detail as well as a willingness to do what needs to be done. I always go above and beyond my scope of practice to help my clients achieve the maximum level of independence while acting as a supplement to their abilities. In my opinion, assisting with activities of daily living goes well above and beyond just personal hygiene and meal prep. It means helping the client stay engaged in the community as desired. Getting out and continuing to be active as able. I excel with clients and families that are looking for high quality care as well as compassion and drive to achieve. I like to push for whats possible and work well with a family and care team that is actively involved with day to day on goings and encourages client to maintain maximum health and independence regardless of affliction or disability. I have 30 years experience as a caregiver, companion! I like hospice care too because when we come into this world we have many people around us. I believe we should have someone there when we leave on our journey!. I have a big heart filled with love and care!

My story.. When I was 14 years old my grandmother was diagnosed with dementia. She declined very fast and my grandfather (already being 76 years old) couldn't care for her on his own. So my twin brother and I moved in full time with my grandparents and helped care for her at a very young age. Soon after she passed my grandfather was diagnosed with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, and my family was ready to find a LTC facility (Long Term Care facility) where they could care for him. My brother and I absolutely refused the idea of him being moved out of his home he worked so hard for, so we then continued to take care of him until last year. My whole life has been dedicated to caring for other individuals. Not only do I hold myself to the highest standards of care, but I love doing what I do and show compassion at an all time high, because I put myself in other individuals shoes. This job/career will be my career for a lifetime and I am an extremely family orientated person.

I've been a caregiver for about 3 years now. I've always liked helping people and seeing people grow. I started working with kids, being an assistant teacher at cowabungas and working at an all girls camp. Then I went into caregiving for the elderly with Home Instead. I've taken courses for dementia and Alzheimer's. I love building a connection with the people I work with and helping them achieve the things they are working towards.
