I became a HHA because my mother became ill,she needed someone to assist her as she became older. I went to school to become a LPN because I wanted to make sure that I was taking care of my mother the best I could. She had cancer and when she passed away at home I knew I wanted to be there for people that need help not just their physically but emotionally as well. I believe this is my calling.

When they got sick I was all they had I had to quit my job and take care of her 24/7. I went from watching her cook meals, going to bingo, invite her friends over, and especially helping me with everything to waking up one morning and she couldn't do anything let alone remember her name. I like my job as a cna one day ill be a nurse. What i enjoy most about being a caregiver is the company that I bring to other.
